Dutch army canvas tent try out

- With a trip planned to Wales coming up I wanted to try out this canvas tent the Dutch army used...will be using this on the second night if the trip by a lake so took myself off to see how it fares
Nice one Justin, I enjoy my Dutch Tent, heavy and needs sorting with the holes that are in there due to zippers but a great fun shelter bud. Enjoy mate 👍, cheers, Ant.
It's not the perfect tent system by any stretch of the imagination mate but for under 35 quid I like it yeah it's heavy but I don't intend on carrying far and the zips could be better but hey ..it will still serve me well mate thanks for watching my friend atb jj
I picked one up at the bushcraft show to use on canoe trips where weight isn't an issue, I've been Impressed so far. I'll be picking up a second one for my son to use

I reckon that if you can seal where the zips meet then that canvas tent is bomb proof. Thinking of doing two together or modding a tarp extension and hot tenting the second area.
I've got a friend who is going to do just as you say my friend..put two close together with a tarp above and convert the second one to take a flue for a stove ..still love this mate and it will be used again soon thanks for watching atb jj

Thanks for a great review am planning to buy two one for me and one for my brother from military mart when they are in stock again, already have a polish lavvu size 1 so I be comparing them at my permission woodland camp in the next few weeks 👍

This video is old now lol ...but it still gets used occasionally speaking if which I will have to dig it out and use it again soon, one of these would be perfect for taking bramble out camping 🏕 atb jj

I've always fancied one of these, but the sheer size has always put me off. Great little walk around of it though! Who knows, maybe one day.
Never say never eh..i woukdnt walk far with it due to size and weight ..but when you can park your van up walk a brief bit into the woods it ain't to bad my friend..atb jj

Hello, thanks for the video. I have just bought a Dutch Army tent. I was wondering if you had any tips about cleaning and maybe waterproofing the tent? Mine has some mould/mildew growth and smells pretty bad. It is up in the garden at the moment just airing out in the sunshine! Thanks.
You can try a fabsil waterproof treatment on it and hopefully that will go some way to keeping it a bit drier
Bargain at that price JJ. Its a big bugger, but nice space for a long weekend. JB

It is not waterproof and will leak badly in the rain and will need a tarp. It's not a great tent.
It's a great tent despite all its limitations..and trust me after having one for 3 yrs I know all.about it and has been mentioned in lots of other videos..this is an old video
