I was having chest pains and a hard time breathing last weekend, so I went to the ER to get checked out. They kept me for 3 days to run countless tests plus observe my condition and monitor my heart.
Unfortunately it is very serious and they discovered that I have a condition called cardiomyopathy, which means my heart is weak and working way harder than it should. Normally this occurs due to a blockage of the heart. I don’t have any blocked arteries which is the good news. The bad news is that this is possibly linked to my family history of heart disease and heart attacks (especially at a young age).
Even though I have been working out for over 35 years, eat healthy, ran the NYC marathon, completed multiple Spartan races, trained in Krav Maga and boxing, I’m one of the rare cases where a person “just” develops cardiomyopathy.
The painful reality is that sometimes you just can’t beat your genetics no matter how hard you work. It’s almost like trying to swim upstream; maximum effort with minimal or limited results.
However I am extremely lucky and grateful for so many things; friends, family and of course my boy, Magnus.
Both of my daughters stayed with me all 3 days while I was in the hospital; making sure I was comfortable, had enough pillows and that I had yummy food to eat (because I am a huge foodie). They really stepped up and did EVERYTHING for me.
Friends were also in my corner helping in any way possible. I’m lucky to still be extremely close to a large group of friends from when I was a kid; friends since the 3rd, 4th & 5th grade. These people aren’t really just friends anymore, but family. They all checked in with me constantly to see if I was ok or needed them to help in anyway. The outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming.
Then there is Magnus. Thankfully he was allowed to stay with me 24/7 because he is also my service dog. He did exactly what he does best; kept me relaxed and took my mind off the current situation. He knows when to cuddle and when to get a little “goofy.” He made the medical staff smile and also kept my girls calm. I love this dog more than he will ever know. ❤️

It can help yes. However most should know that it can be a health hazard for the patient and others. Another patient could be allergic to pets. As the hair. Hospitals can't be made to accommodate that in most cases..As then the pet's health and well being has to be taken in and most places don't treat human and animal welfare together. Bad for health of patients alive and dieing. Where A clean environment is needed. Most pets wouldn't be able to do this.

In the hospitals we try to treat every patient as an individual case therefor all needs and requirements may differ. And exceptions can happen, the dogs no different to having a loved one spend the night to be honest.

I wish you could have your dog in the hospital with you in my Canada I spent 5 months in the hospital this past year and missed my dog so much I would have healed up with my dog even faster but they would not even let him in for a minute he's just a twenty pound lil shorkie but not even then 🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕

They do have “healing powers”!! 😊 When cats purr, they are exhaling and inhaling in a constant pattern and frequency.. Studies are showing that the sound frequency percentage cats purr in a certain range that can improve bone density and promote healing.. it’s amazing.. Not only cats but any animal that you have a bond with or love, animals reduce stress and anxiety, that reduces your blood pressure, helps with labored breathing, also helps with illnesses.. Absolutely amazing!!

I am happy his service dog was allowed to stay with him all the while he was in the hospital! That gave him comfort and probably helped him to get better quicker, too!

Dogs are Earth angels. They were sent here to teach us everything they already know.Things that you can only learn from a dog. There is no greater love or bond than what man has with their dog. Nothing compares to it. My dogs are my joy in life. It's wonderful to see this man being loved and protected by his sweet boy!

The number of patients with such cases is really small, and they can control the situation. Hygiene also can be threatened by humans.
He’s not a pet. He’s a therapy dog which is why the hospital has to let it stay

@@user-ib4qp6vo8l В ваших больницах посетители носят бахилы, а пациенты тапочки. Я читаю комментарии и офигиваю. Сама живу в Америке более 20 лет. Родила двух детей, оба инвалиды. Старшего сына врачи сделали инвалидом дважды до 13 лет, второй родился больным из-за стресса со старшим и с первым мужем-американцем, который меня, беременную, (он бросил меня с первым ребенком, когда сыну было 5 лет) таскал по судам, это отдельная история. Так вот, когда рожала и первого и второго, какие там на фиг бахилы? У нас даже мед работники маски не носили, когда к слабым новорожденным приближались, не уверена, что санитизировали руки (а сын мой родился с низким Апгаром благодаря ошибкам врачей), но это не главная их проблема. Проблема в том, что главная задача клиник в Америке - заработать деньги, а на здоровых пациентах денег не заработаешь. Вот они и творят свои беззакония, из здоровых людей делая больных. Так устроена система. Если хотите проверить, приезжайте сюда. Моя мама в советской России не имела столько проблем со мной, сколько мне создали здесь американские доктора. Есть медработники, которые с этой системой борятся, но делать это очень сложно, т.к. это самая настоящая ма-фи-оз-ная группировка, только узаконенная государством.
