Really glad I came across your video. I was going to change the clamp on my Vanguard Tripod with ball head, but wasn't able to unscrew the clamp from the ball head. They must have sealed it with Quicktight or something. Even put it into my vise and used Vise Grips, and hammer, but it would not budge. I was all set to order a new ball head, until I came across your video. What a great idea! I had already bought an Arca Swiss clamp, so now all I had to do was take my Vanguard plate off my X-T3 and screw the Arca Swiss clamp to that and presto - problem solved. Thank you for producing this video. You have probably saved quite a few people from this problem.
You’re the best Michael, thank you very much, that is a great idea, I don’t really want to buy a new tripod, the one that I have is the Oben AC-1321 with a BA-106 ball head and it’s very good, my only problem is adapting an L bracket to it. Again, thank you very much, I’ll let you know how I make out.
@@ShutterFanatic In some cases you can remove the proprietary quick release clamp from a head and replace it with an Arca Swiss compatible clamp. In particular, you can do this with many heads with the popular Manfrotto RC2 system. Indeed, Manfrotto sells replacement Arca Swiss compatible clamps for some of its more recent heads, so you don't have to track down a third party solution.
@@DavidWood2 When converting an Manfrotto clamp to an Arca Swiss clamp i need to use an adapter like this: www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01MDK6P1T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hi here, I have tried looking for the quick disconnect bracket but cannot seem to locate it. do you have a link to it somewhere or is it know by another name.. Thanks
that is a terrible solution. So many clamps with low mating surface contact means wobbly performance. Not going to do much good for time lapse or bulb mode use.

Just unscrew the hex head screw off and remove the clamp off the tripod head and change the clap to what ever style you need.

how to convert 3/8 to 1/4 ?
Search for 3/8 to 1/4 reducer. It looks like a short metal cylinder with threads on the outside and inside
If I used this system would it be compatible with my L- Bracket which is attached to my Canon 5D3 so that I can jump from one tripod to another ???
Thank yoy Sir,

Can I put a Arca Swiss adapter on Manfrotto 290 Light Tripod with Befree Live Fluid Video Head?
you just went from arca swiss to arca swiss WTF?
This was just a demonstration on what you could do if you didn't have an arca swiss compatible tripod. lol
Hi Michael, I hope everything is well and that if you’re not posting any videos lately it’s because you’re busy. All the best.
