Wouldn't it be better to not release the bulls and bows with the large imbalance to predator fish to kokanee ? They are pretty skinny and sad looking these days.. Hopefully the lake will be restored to its former glory in my lifetime. Between the lack of kokanee, and the rapidly dying cedar trees in the area, it bums me out.
This area is actually considered the ‘West Arm’ of Kootenay Lake and has different regulations than the Main Lake but yes, you should keep your limit of Bulls and Bows in the Main Lake. There was an increase in Kokanee populations over the past two years but far from its sustainable numbers. Not sure we will ever see it back to the glory days of 20+ lb Bows.
Awesome video boys! Love the WHISTLER you caught! So many names for whitefish...or should I say "ROCKIES"!
Man I want to fish BC and make a video on that sometime... any tips on where to go?
Come to Trail, BC and fish the Columbia River....it’s incredible
