I definitely can believe this! I remember when I was in SS2 in Ibadan Boys High School in Nigeria, one day my class was assigned to cut the grass in front of my muddy, swampy, school hall. As we were cutting the grass, we began to feel things moving beneath our feet, and when we look down, they were catfish, many of them, growing in this muddy, swampy area with almost no water. People were fishing in mud, I kid you not!

True story. I witnessed people catching fish on the overgrown IBHS field after it rained.

You are right, I withness Samson caught cat fish after school hours 1972 at the Ibadan boys high school swamp next to his house.

Catfish live in the mud, that's their natural habitat.

I am about to cook fish pepper soup and this popped up, amazing, fish is so delicious, if you are sick and no hope, start eating only fish, meat and vegetables, cook them with spices and eat everyday and also drink lemon 🍋 + water mixture until you are cured. Thanks be to God Almighty.

The fact is that Nigeria and Africa are blessed by the almighty God. Everything in Africa seems to be the best. Yoruba ethnic groups have a blessing from God. I remember my mother's village in Ogun state,, Suberu Ojee then. There was a pond in the village where children swam and women fetched water for the household. In this pond, we swim among the fish, the fish are very slippery and used to swim by touching our bodies. People are told never to harvest the fish because it cannot be cooked. This was something I never can forget. The village is now under Lagos State authority.

All I can say this village may not be too far from Onitsha because is in Onitsha near river Niger we buy this types of fishes and we know is not from the river. When you pay and you want it smooked they will tell the day you will come back for collection. they will cut to sizes before smooked.
