#HawaiiFiveO #HawaiiFiveOCars #MercuryParkLaneCar
Brougham is pronounced with 1 syllable, "brome", not bro ham. Marquis is pronounced with a silent s, "mar-kee", not markeez.
Thank you! No one is saying Brog Ham….. yet!
Yeah, that bad of a mispronunciation is an instant tune out for me.
Well, at least he did pronounce it as "BroG-ham " ot "Mar-kwiss" as I've heard from some people. Sheesh!
Maybe someone should start a GoFundMe page for this guy for classes on how to pronounce the words correctly
I have never understood why someone would take the time to research and edit their videos, but they can't make the time to correctly PRONOUNCE the names of the subjects in their videos.
NOT SUBSCRIBED OR RECOMMENDED OR SHARED
PS this is done by so many people on this and other video sites that they can start their own platform.
🤣😄😆🙃🤪
Wow..Thank you for your work Donz! Grew Up In Kahala, walking distance from the First Five O Studios, right up the street from me In Kahala. Sooooo Many Memories...
THANK YOU! Very informative & entertaining video! Enjoyed watching the original "Hawaii Five O" as a teen during its original run & later in reruns.
I always wondered how Steve would leave in a two door and arrive to the crime scene in a four door.
I had a 1971 mercury marquis Brougham. I loved it! Had a 429 and was fast as grease
Apparently it has been proven that the 1968 car that is in Illinois it’s not really the car that was used on the show, and that it is a clone me to look like it, that’s the nicest way I can say it,
Beutiful car
The Star is Mercury
All see for Mercury blue movie
"Bra-ham?" It's pronounced "Brohome" (like "chrome.") As in Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. Or Mercury Park Lane Brougham.
Unless of course you are going out to get some ham from your bro.
Also Mar-key , not Mar-keese!
It's scary how functionally illiterate most of society is today.
@@smoothoperator7023 Better than “mar-qwiss” Like I’ve heard some people pronounce it 🤦🏻♂️
I’m astonished that someone would make a UA-cam presentation, and not verify the pronunciation of the two words, “Marquis” and “Brougham.”
The first time I saw a Pontiac Grand Pricks I got a backhand from Dad.
Hey! I use to own one.
Video had potential, lost me at Bro ham (like everyone else) and the Garnd Marquiz. Shame.
Doug DeMuro doesn't know how to say it either. Totally ruined the Caddy video he was doing for me.
The '67 was a rental from a local agency. It was returned after 'Cocoon' filming was finished and is lost to history.
Let us not forget: for a brief time in 1978 Steve McGarrett drove a blue Fairmont station wagon. Brian Tochi played an ex-con named Joey that got busted out of jail and McGarrett drove the get-away car that was the Fairmont. In that episode, Joey drove a 1967 Mercury Cougar.
Mercury BRO-HAM????!!!! WTF if you cant pronounce the name correctly, you dont know much about this car
Your mixing up the Marquis and the Park lane. The Marquis only came out in 1969. The 68 was a Park lane. the 74 Marquis was not a Grand Marquis, they only came out in 1976
Wrong, first one was 1967.
@Dan Cline Both are correct. The Marquis was a two-door only offering for 1967. The Grand Marquis came out in 1975 and was just another trim level of the Marquis. The Park Lane was 1968 and was triple-black: interior, vinyl top and paint.
@@clucknorriz6683 and it was a coupe only
Beautiful classic cars 🚗.
beautiful car, the america that i loved. from france
I bought my wife a bra-ham. It's the most comfortable brazier she ever wore.😆
Lol.
Thanks for the laugh Isdada. Good one!
😆🤣😂 Sweet!
They briefly used a 1973 Mercury Marquis Brougham ...before the better looking sleeker 1974. You can tell by the grill and wheel covers. That episode had a Lincoln crashed.
The episode that the Lincoln was crashed actually used 3 Full-sized Mercurys: a 1974 Marquis, a 1972 Marquis, and a 1968 Park Lane Brougham.
Markeese Brawhayum. Lol. Anyway, nice video.
I've sat here and laughed for 5 minutes and my sides hurt!!! 😂😂😂
He actually said 1974 Grand Marquis. The Grand Marquis didn't start until 1975.
It’s said that jack lord worked at ford dealer ship at one time as a salesman that’s why he requested all fords be used on the show that marquis was given too him buy jack lord .after the show ended it’s amazing they used it on that terrible remake Hawaii 50 why don’t the studio pay for a full nut and bolt restoration surly it can’t be for lack off $ that’s sad .👍
Thank you for sharing.
Yeah, that would be great if CBS pitched in on restoring car.
Jack Lord was a Cadillac salesman, as far as I ever knew. But from what I know, Jack did present the '74 to his double as a present at the end of the show. I believe Jack also had some personal investment in the show early on because the production budget was so low and he considered the '68 Park Lane as his own personal car. I think by the end of the series, he practically owned the show..or at least a good part of it. He was a pretty smart businessman, that's for sure. Except for Pearl Harbor, one might say Jack Lord put Hawaii on the map.
As for preferences for specific brands of cars being used in television shows, studios and production companies use companies that they have contracts and sponsorship deals to keep production costs low. Lord may have bought both the Park Lane and the Marquis from the studio personally and used the funds reserved for studio cars elsewhere in the show at the end of the 1968 season and the 1974 season. Usually at the start of each season, new cars are provided.
Functionally illiterate
@@codyluka8355 You're correct. Jack Lord sold Cadillacs in New York City. He actually bought a white 1969 DeVille which he drove until he died. Post Five O, Lord did a lot of PR work on behalf of the State of Hawaii.
Where can find the Mercury car papercrafts can't find them anywhere
Why are people who can't pronounce words correctly allowed to narrate videos? It only displays their ignorance.
They enjoy being functionally illiterate? 🦧
There are few if any requirements to upload a video on UA-cam, I’m assuming.
And where's the car ? I know it was blown up in season 2 and rumor was it was restored
1968 2 dr Moteray was the one I watch some of the show black with black top but was a 2 dr nice looking Merc
68 merc park lane or marquis ? Bra ham or brougham ?
Where is Jim Rockfords 73 Firebird?
74
Where are Mannix's Cudas? Somebody restored the Dart GTS
@@benjaminbellamy7207 Anyone know where the 66 Toronado Conv. is that used in season one?
Jim Rockford used 1974-78 Firebirds. It is a known fact that James Garner stuck with the '78s for the final season or two because he didn't like the look of the '79s.
@@speakfreeley4473 Exactly. The Rockford Files ended in late 1979. James Gardner was experiencing health problems at that time.
In one scene he would be driving the four door and the two door as if no one would notice. Why wasn't he given a Chevrolet bel air to drive like regular cops?
Jack Lord had it in his contract that he'd only drive Ford vehicles.
Who makes the models that were shown at the beginning of the video?😊😊😊
They're on EBAY, I will try to find it again....
67, 68, 73, 74
In 1.04" you can see the shift lever, apparently they satndard transmission cars for stunts. The shifter could be a Hurst.
That's actually in the Mustang that McGarret was chasing. It the episode called "The Claw". That Mustang was a stickshift car while the Park Lane was not. I can't remember which season that was in...either season 4 or 5. You'll have to Google it if you want to see it. Great episode, imo.
Bra Ham? LOL
Wrong, where's his car that was blown up in season 2!!
The car blown up in Season 2 was a junker 1964 Mercury.
Learn how to pronounce these things.
Wrong. Last season last episode had a red one
We have all twelve seasons and I never seen it.
