I would like to share something if I may to the women. I say this in love and 45 yrs of happy marriage behind me. To start bluntly, don't set your husband up for failure over your own self need to want to be romanticized. I was there. I have a man who will do anything for me. I know he loves me. He is a great father, and always worked hard for us. Yet, my own selfish, unrealistic needs would put him in a place of shame, feeling bad and worse yet, left him no way to make it up. Right? "Too late now, you already forgot". Poor me. Boo hoo. "He doesn't love me because he didn't remember!" That was me until I realized how in myself I was. I have/had everything in this man of mine except for...yes, a romantic guy. He does not remember dates well. He does not think about flowers or gifts. But he is my faithful soul partner. My love for him and his feelings caused me to change my ways early in marriage. Instead of setting him up for failure, I would remind him of upcoming dates. I REMINDED myself of the real man I have. How grateful I was that God brought us together. I did not put pressure on him anymore. I did not "wait" to see if he would remember, and I did not expect to get something other than what he gives me every day. I would, however, give from myself. Make a nice dinner, plan a picnic, or just sit and rest together if that was needed. I promise life will be much happier. 😊

Jase said he would never own the flowery shirt. There was a study of camo vs the typical Hawaii style shirts back from the 70s or 80s if I remember. Basically according to deer vision the Hawaiian shirts looks like a camo in their limited color vision. So a guy I know actually wore one archery whitetail in Saskatchewan and took a really good deer. True story. I still wear my camo tho.

I've given you guys some grief about the podcast lately but at the 10-minute mark, you made me tear up for the first time ever as a listener. For some reason, the cold-water baptism story overwhelmed me. I just started tearing up and felt the presence of God at the same time. I can't really explain it, that's never happened to me before. Wow. Also, bring Jill back more often! The Jill-Phil combo is a winning formula. 🙂
I am trying to find a recent episode where they were talking about something else (Jase. Al and Zach) and Phil would chime in with scripture unrelated over and over ….and the guys were laughing so hard…I loved the episode and want to share it with my husband but can’t remember which episode. I feel like it’s been within the month.
I understand what Zach is saying about the black whole example. If the evil one can grab on to a person,they can pull a lot of people in with them. It's like deep depression to death ❤. Praise God for godly people that have open arms.
They di thr same thing to mother in laws. Tv shows they are mean, judging, snooty,; smothering etc. We should be showing the bond we can have and the love we can have from mother in laws.

Women, why would you test your husbands? If he’s a good man, provides for your family, loves your children, then just plan your own anniversaries! Don’t test him! If you want something special for your birthday, then buy it! Or plan a lunch or dinner for the two of you to go on. Then you will never be disappointed. Don’t put your happiness in anyone else hands except Jesus. Don’t let special occasions or holidays be the reason to put distance in your marriage. That’s the devil.

I was dating a man several yrs ago that was constantly speaking about the Bible and leading everyone to believe he was a Christian. Turned out he was a wolf in sheep's clothing, at least that's the 1st thing I thought once he showed his true colors to me by repeatedly slapping me in the face every time I said Jesus loves me. I started saying it after the 3rd slap. When I continued saying it, it made him even angrier and that's when he took me down to the floor and he let his anger out even more. Needless to say, I planned my exit and 2 days later I was gone. I still to this day have no idea why he started hitting me. All I asked him was how he wanted his steak since I'd never cooked one for him before. Looking back I remember the evil I felt during that display of how he thought a Christian man should act. I was single for 10 yrs after that and I'll be darned if I didn't wind up next dating a verbal abuser. I put up with that one for 7 yrs. I've decided I'll not put myself in that situation again by being only on my own. Not even 1 date will this gal ever have. I'll die never knowing true love. So yes, a lot of marriages are being destroyed because they don't have that tie to bind them. Jesus Christ.

So. I accept Jesus as my Lord and savior. Get baptized and life is great. I am not and will never be well off and will not be able to retire at 56 years old and duck hunt and treasure hunt and have chauffeurs and have multiple homes. I know that God said he is no respecter of persons and do everything to live a quiet life and take a family decision to make decision to do the duck show and not live a quiet life. I’m confused. I really wish I could know that God.
