Great video! Thanks for being so thorough with it. I have 284k on my 2011. I have owned it about 5 years and have driven the crap out of it, putting the last 100k on it with very little service. I am beginning to have shifting issues. I am thinking of doing this service plus the Mechatronic sleeve and solenoids while I am in there. This car has been great! Thanks again for the thorough video.
sleeve and solenoids are a solid choice while in there, just be sure to get the solenoids from hyundai so its OEM just incase the flow ratting is slightly different then BMW/JAG/AM,ect
RockAuto sells this pan kit with new bolts, bridge seal, four tube seals, and a new gasket for the fill plug for ~$130 plus tax and shipping. Also, you don't need to use the ZF fluid for this trans. I like to use the Amsoil fluid, but I hear the Valvoline Max Life will suffice
to each there own but man I would never trust that combo, pay cheap get cheap.. amsoil is a good company but why risk it when the manufacture sells the OE fluid at a reasonable price? Seems like trouble if you ask me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@GenerationGarage I have this same engine on my 2011 Equus. After serving my trans with the parts listed, no issues whatsoever. Also saved a few bucks. The way I look at it, my car is 13 yrs old and way past the warranty
@@kalani1987 Like I said.. to each there own.. glad you didn't have any issues but I personally wouldn't recommend it, no ones saving money if it kills an expensive transmission regardless of the age
still driving good? I have 132k on mine and shops seem skeptical about changing it because it might damage the transmission... I doubt it would, but im curious about your experience
Great video! Question, my Genesis 4.6 only has 68k miles. What do you think about just a simple drain and refill without changing the filter? Seems like there is little downside and probably lowers the risk of screwing something up.
A drain and refill would probably be enough although its just one of those things since your already gonna be in there it may be worth just doing the filter since the hardest part is refilling while in the correct temp range
If you let it sit over night on jackstands then warm it up to the right temp it should take the rest of the fluid, just makes sure you hold it in each gear for 5secs
GEP makes a engine oil cooler not a transmission cooler, also doing it this way allows the car to still warm up with the daisy chained radiator but offers better cooling while on the road
