Yeah It's always stuff like "just eat a healthy and varied diet" like shut up. It might do wonders for some people. It's not about "normal functioning". It's about functioning better than you currently are. Some people need improved blood flow to the brain or increased neurotrophic growth factor. Exercise is great for all these things but exercise and nootropics could perhaps lead to even greater results. It might also help people recovering from stroke to have even better outcomes.
Just socialise a lot, challenge yourself everyday, face your fears slowly but gradually and you will definitely become fearless and limitless from higher consciousness. I am living evidence
Michael bowers no nootropic has been proven to work. Racetams have shown some promise in old people with dementia, that’s hardly anything special. They do nothing for a healthy person. Any smart drug that works is a stimulant, adderall, Modafinil, etc.
+Ray Abando ... True, Modafinil is much safer than meth, but Adderall is NOT meth.... BUT it is Amphetamine. To clarify, Amphetamine is considered way safer than Methamphetamine.
+Ray Abando It may seem like I'm nit picking, and yes, the effects of Amphetamine (Adderal) and Methamphetamine are similar, but they are DIFFERENT in an important way. The following I lifted right out of the Wikipedia under Methamphetamine. "Unlike amphetamine, methamphetamine is neurotoxic to human midbrain dopaminergic neurons.[18] It has also been shown to damage serotonin neurons in the CNS.[19][20] This damage includes adverse changes in brain structure and function, such as reductions in grey matter volume in several brain regions and adverse changes in markers of metabolic integrity.[20]" So when anyone says "Adderal is just Meth" , I feel obliged to comment and correct. I even offer friendly advice to the kids: When you are offered a choice between Adderal or Meth, Just stick with Adderal, it's way safer.

The difference why the FDA allows them is that you still function within the system, wheras with LSD you start thinking outside the box, which is why it's illegal.
TripInPeace Music LSD gives you delusions. It’s illegal because you can’t function on it, at all. You can’t drive, you can’t work, you can’t raise children, you can’t do anything while high on LSD. LSD decreases executive brain function, the part of your brain that controls reasoning and grounds you in reality. So no, you’re not super intelligent when on LSD, you’re actually detached from reality and deluded. It’s more of a fun drug than anything.
No, the FDA doesn’t approve or ban dietary supplements, which is what nootropics are marketed as. They really should evaluate dietary supplements though.
Oh wow you know Tesla took a shit load of drugs...wouldn't exactly call any of them smart. I mean, I don't know if they were on the same level of debauchery and decadence as say Motley Crue, or Guns N Roses, but I'm sure they did their fair share of heroin, cocaine, booze and quaaludes.
“Now if such a Smart drug does really exist, then I wonder is it truly safe to take; That is safe enough to take without any dangerous side affects of any kind what so ever?”
There are virtually no side effects to quality nootropics stacks as they are all-natural derivatives and extracts and essentially brain food. The effects that are known are quite minor, from brain fog, to nausea and crashes (down in the dumps and low energy). This can result from the drastic change in meeting those new dietary needs, taking too many nootropics at once with prescription meds or no prior supplement use, or purchasing low grade nootropic stacks which are marketed more for immediate effects and used as an alternative to energy drinks/Adderall to complete specific tasks quickly over a short period. If you take a quality nootropics stack, after a few days you should have virtually no side effects and the first few days its always recommended to take a half dosage and gradually increase to the fully recommended dose in order to avoid the initial shock that happens in some people.
Sounds too good to be true, which is the hallmark of any fraudulent claim. Are the long-term effects known, does it even work as believed and will altering your brain chemistry is this way lead to other problems. It just shows how no matter how successful you are, we always desire more & is that a winning formula which can be sustained?.
I took it and I didn't notice anything. Neither did others. . . It can cost millions to get FDA to approve so maybe at least we could get it 3rd party tested. Credibility will increase! And we'll know how beneficial it is if any and for who.
I think the people in this are exaggerating and misinterpreting. I haven't tried anything more than Modafinil but the effects are not immediate nor will they work for everyone. Modafinil doesn't give you motivation, it essentially reduces the amount of tiredness/fatigue that you experience. Which throughout the day there's always a little bit of cloudiness/fatigue in our minds (at least in my experience). Modafinil removes this, but beyond that I don't believe it *directly* does anything more. Now that sounds like it doesn't do much and I think for some people it won't do much as simply reducing fatigue does not mean you are suddenly doing to go and do whatever you need to do, you need the motivation already. I believe it's more of a long-term habit changer, if you have less fatigue then over time this snowballs into you becoming more and more productive, more and more intelligent within whatever area it is you're focused. I started with Modafinil in my second year of Uni with grades of 40-50% (with the occasional higher grades). I managed to scrape though my second year with a minor improvement in grades, I was averaging around 50% (the year before I had gotten 40%). In my third year I worked very hard and managed to come out with 61% (2.1 in the UK so the most common grade). I then went on to do a Masters, during my Masters I also taught myself to code. I managed to get a job with Uni coding and by Summer I was good enough to beat the other ~100 people in one of my modules (against a few comp sci students too) to receive a scholarship to do my dissertation in AI with a big American company. I came out of my Masters with 80%, the top grade you can get in the UK is 70%+. Now I work in machine learning/AI (I originally did Aeronautical Engineering but did I U-turn and essentially taught myself alongside my Masters - Modafinil made that possible imo). I think I would not have had a chance of being where I am now without Modafinil, I think in part I was also incredibly lucky to have the opportunities I did but I still believe Modafinil contributed massively to making it possible. The effects are subtle in the short-term but in the long-term I think it can make a huge difference.

I feel Geoffrey Woo did ample study (as shared in interview) and created a product line that would benefit individuals and possibly hurt the pharmaceutical industry. Modafinil and phenylpiracetam are where it's at.
Incorrect. Modafinil is much safer. Adderall is literally meth.
+Ray Abando ... True, Modafinil is much safer than meth, but Adderall is NOT meth.... BUT it is Amphetamine. To clarify, Amphetamine is considered way safer than Methamphetamine.
but it is basically the same drug, it's just meth hits you faster and is stronger. I do like Adderall occasionally
+Ray Abando It may seem like I'm nit picking, and yes, the effects of Amphetamine (Adderal) and Methamphetamine are similar, but they are DIFFERENT in an important way. The following I lifted right out of the Wikipedia under Methamphetamine.
"Unlike amphetamine, methamphetamine is neurotoxic to human midbrain dopaminergic neurons.[18] It has also been shown to damage serotonin neurons in the CNS.[19][20] This damage includes adverse changes in brain structure and function, such as reductions in grey matter volume in several brain regions and adverse changes in markers of metabolic integrity.[20]"
So when anyone says "Adderal is just Meth" , I feel obliged to comment and correct. I even offer friendly advice to the kids: When you are offered a choice between Adderal or Meth, Just stick with Adderal, it's way safer.

The difference why the FDA allows them is that you still function within the system, wheras with LSD you start thinking outside the box, which is why it's illegal.
I was looking for this comment!!!!
Omg 🤦🏻♂️ or maybe because it can cause neurological damage

Any supplements or drugs add to the loads of multiple organs like kidney and liver etc.
The mood-boosting qualities of Normotim lithium make it a popular choice among nootropic enthusiasts.

60 pills a day? oh, my liver!!

That’s the problem, Geraldine. If the body becomes “immune” to them, the pendulum could seriously swing the other way, and the person would be left foggy and stupid. He or she would then have to take the stuff just to function AT ALL!!!
