I've had DCS a few years but haven't really delved too deep until now. With the sale on, I bought the F18 and 16 but can't for the life of me get the hang of the 18's Radar.
bro when there slike 5 friendlies and enemies in front of me I have no idea what i am doing. The radar is just too cluttered. I wish we can remove all friendlies like a filter and auto lock closest enemies. plesa help
Fabien Engels at the moment you’ve gotta do it every time you get airborne in a new aircraft. Pain in the ass, but you get pretty quick at doing it after a while. I’ve also changed my ranges to 40NM for AMRAAM, 20NM for SPARROW and 10NM for SIDEWINDER too. Bit more refined to declutter radar when you get into a fight. Glad you liked it and I hope it helped. Am planning on making more when I get the time so keep your eyes peeled.
It basically slews the radar on the selected target so you don't lose it when it leaves the 40-60° view it basically tracks for the whole 160° while keeping a tight sweep on it.
For guns you are generally in visual range, when you use the select gun keybind it will default to ACM Boresite so if you put a target in the dashed line displayed on HUD it will lock it up automatically as long as you’re within 5NM

Sensor control switch to the MFD that has the radar on it. Look for the little diamond in the top right of the MFD to see which one it is assigned to. Once you have diamond on the MFD you want to use you can use TDC left, right, up and down to move the yellow cursor

The beauty of UA-cam is there is literally hundreds of content creators for DCS and we can all choose our creators who click with the way we learn and what makes the information stick in your brain. I'm not oversensitive, but it took a few % off the experience..... like if your bank manager had tattoos on his hands..... If I'm listening to a teacher in a class, they start swearing and it takes from the lesson rather than adds. I know I sound like I'm on some moral highground saying that comment but I honestly thought you only had something to gain by not using those words.... the worlds crude enough as it is. Looking back at the comment I guess it was a bit abrupt sounding, and it's hard to give context in a small comment. Don't sweat it anyway, you did a good job. I just got the module so I'm sure I'll be back.

Glad you still learnt something from it mate, that’s the main goal of doing this stuff 👌🏻

Haha yeah we are definitely desensitised to swearing compared to our American counterparts that’s for sure. Some of them would get a rude awakening if they ever came to Australia for a holiday haha. As you said, it’s all context… the F-bomb is so versatile in Australia, you can use it as an act of aggression, surprise, disbelief, humour… the list goes on 😂 🇦🇺 🇦🇺🇦🇺

Start with one aircraft and build it from there mate… stop trying to do too much too early

With the AIM120 on the stores page, what does "S MODE (auto/man)" do ?
it is for TWS mode, I'm not 100% on it but i believe that if you are going to use TWS Auto mode you should leave the S Mode in Auto too.
