Back in the 80s, such a great time to be alive, everything was boiling; movies, cartoons, books, underground rock and we had no idea that we were living the very last breath of innovation and real talent in the pop/rock mainstream media. By the mid 90s, everything was already crumbled and rock would give the last breath with grunge. A new generation came lead by Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and Kanye,,, and that the end of real music, musicians and talented artists. Singers semi naked trying to sing with auto tune and lyrics like Anaconda, dark horse, gold digger…etc, Seeing by this scope..the 80s are absolutely amazing. All sorts of genres, styles and booming with talent. U2, Echo & The Bunnymen , The Cure, The Smiths, Van Halen, talking heads, B 52’s, the cult, joy division. new order, depeche mode and so much more. Plus all the veterans reinventing themselves according to the mood of the decade. Elton John, Tina Turner, Stones, Rod Stewart, bowie and queen. Just mention a few. And l didn’t even get to guns and roses and iron maiden,,,plus Heavy Metal etc, The diversity and freedom of the 80s is another important detail. Today we feel lucky and fortunate that we have UA-cam and we all can time travel back to that magnificent era.
An intact voice with a true talent that of Billy, another of the greats of Rock and Pop of the wonderful time that God did not give away for living it ...
How are you even contemplating who would be the "closer" in that situation? I have nothing against Joan Jett and she can still rock out in her own right however, Billy is and has been the clear "hit machine" in comparison with Billy having many many more hits than Joan Jett. I dare say it's probably not even close. I know Joan has more than 1 or 2 big major hits but I would say she's only got probably either 4 to 5 or maybe 6 main hits. I'm talking about hits that were big enough to be on the radio for a while or at least known enough that the majority of people would know her songs. Meanwhile Billy probably has at least double that if not maybe triple. Either way, that should be a pretty good concert if they are both not sick or have sore throats. They can both sill bring it and try to entertain.
