- From Sunrise of Sufferbus(1991)
Chris Goss:vocals and guitar
Ginger Baker :drums
Googe :bass
Curious fact:the girl who dance in the first seconds of the vid is Jennifer Lopez
Great song, Ginger Baker one off the three best rock drummers ever, along with John Bonham and Neil Peart.
Three?? Number one to me!!!!
Ian Paice was better than Bonham
The fact that Ginger Baker was willing to play with this band speaks volumes about how awesome it is.
And, yet, you hardly ever, if ever, heard any of their songs on a rock and roll radio station.
The main reason probably is because, being a little known band, the station's probably wanted to charge them for playing their songs.
They are basically a cult band. Arguably, the greatest rock and roll cult band out there.
RIP, Ginger.
There was never even the slightest shred of doubt or uncertainty in Ginger’s playing. EVER.
He laid it down like no one else could or ever will.
Brings me back to the early 90s when I was just out of college! Fucking brilliant! Masters of Reality - the most underrated band on the planet with Ginger Baker! Sunrise on the Sufferbus is a great album
R.I.P. Ginger Baker. One of the best to ever pick up a set of drumsticks
Sunrise on the sufferbus is genious. And the drumming....
GINGER BAKER greatest Master Drummer of our time.
laurel cook Wow, are you EVER right! I'm embarrassed to say that I never truly appreciated Ginger Baker's drumming until this album came out, as I was and still am a Masters of Reality fan. I really believe Sunrise on the Sufferbus is a drum and percussion tour de force (pardon the cliche', but it's true). The Ginger is The Man...AND he looks like he's having the time of his life playing in this video. WOW!!
ty kind sir~ He's now 76 years old, when he did the Masters of Reality, he must have been in his 50's. Longevity and his timing made my choice. I know there are many good drummers, I can throw around names but knowing the Hell Ginger got himself into over the years and has carried on..Priceless.
+laurel cook And it's got nothing to do with a good cup of tea.
timing ? *blush ~
Good Cup of tea that tastes like ants pee ;)
I read that Casey Niccoli (Been Caught Stealing music video’s director) directed this one too. Struggling to find more than 2 sources but the camera focus, filming style and creative editing approach look similar to Casey’s videos. Anyone know the team of directors behind this video?
R.I.P. Ginger Baker. You played the drums like no one else could.
This is the first song I thought of when I heard he passed away.
The very best we will ever see.
Most underrated album ever. I think of this song and also T.U.S.A. when I think of Ginger.
Too true. This is a great time with a very good band but Ginger has the wheel I think so
Too bad he was such an insufferable prick. I'll take Bonham any day of the week over Baker.
Hahahaha Do you think there might be a genius behind the kit here? Oh Lord...He's gooo-oodd...
this song stands the test of time....awesome stuff!
Scott, I totally agree with you.
By the way Ginger is 52 in this video! Great stuff.
Thank you Leo Dumas for turning me on to this Ginger Baker project! He never lost his magic!
Thirty years and still sounds awesome !
This is a pie and chips song. Totally satisfying with not too many frills. But with Ginger playing drums it’s like a Five Star Michelin Chef made the pastry 😎
The whole album is phenomenal
if nothing else..SOTSB is the greatest recorded hi-hat performance/engineering in history..simple but deep, impeccable timing.
Close your eyes and listen...pure Ginger Baker!
Over the past few years, I have grown to really admire Baker all over again. Every time I see him playing he looks like he is having a great time.
The drumming is crazy on this. So much talent.
That would be the legendary drumming skills of the one & only Ginger Baker who we lost today RIP 😢
it just never stops :D
Omg Ginger Baker made this so good. I was 16 when this dropped.. R I P GB❤️❤️
perfect rock band... awesome
Classic lyrics on JBs Witchdance.
So the moon took control of my eyes and my soul,
I’m smiling coz I know for me no bell could ever toll 😊
Ginger COOKS through the whole fricken album!
I'd like to point out that the Bass player is named Googe. The best rock name ever.
SOOOOOOO glad they hired Ginger Baker for this tune. He's actually smiling, which is amazing in itself. M.O.R. was one of my favorite acts from the 90s. They had a Mountain sort of thing going on (should've covered Mississippi Queen - eh?). Woefully overlooked like Blue Cheer. Nothing works better than a 3 piece band that can bang the sh!t out of the old school rock and roll formula and have a unique sound too.
How are there ANY dislikes for this? I mean even if you don't like Chris Goss (and why the hell wouldn't you?) Ginger Baker shows that even in his 40's he sounded just as crisp and perfect as he did on Disreali Gears. You listen to that drum track and find more than a handful of other drummers that can make the complex sound so simple.
he was actually 51 when they did this
i'm not disagreeing but tat looks fuck all like Jennifer lopez
Ballroom Blitz.
One of my very FAVORITE Ginger Baker songs!
Sunshine of Your Love and this have the same drummer... kinda insane to think about. 25 years apart
ginger baker has been my idol since I was 4 years old, to bad I will never see him play live I guess... :(
🌟🎶👍🏼🎶🌟
GOOOOOOOOOOOGE
Saw them do this live in 1988, in a college gym, in Binghamton NY. They were friggin loud and they kicked ass. Sinister band.
Does baker remind anybody else of Clint Eastwood, just slightly, in this video?
THE ALLMIGHTY CHRIS GOSS ALSO PRODUCED I LOVE YOU S SECOND ALBUM CHECK IT OUT
R.I.P. Ginger Baker
mister who?
I laugh every single time i see that part.
1992
Just as awesome now as in 1991.
This is so cool..why didn't I ever hear it on the radio?
Whole album is fucking AMAZING and just the thing for that guy into the sludgy stuff who 'doesn't think classic-style rock is heavy enough' - sure opened doors for this former Metal Dork.
Godspeed, Mr. Baker....
Wow! Just wow. I just heard this one on Radio Paradise and made sure all my neighbors heard it too. Several times... :)
Ginger Baker is always the best!
I'm God Smacked or Ginger Baker Smacked!!!

She got me when she got her dress on
She got me me when she looked fine
When she got her dress on
She got me when she got down
When she got her dress on
She got me when she got her dress on
Got it on
She got me when she got her dress on
She got me when she got her dress on
She got me when she looked fine
And now she gets it all the time
She got me when she got her dress on

Sound City.
ZARPA2
Goddamned women!! Ginger would agree. :-)
"Sunrise of the Sufferbus" is classic. If you think Ginger doesn't make a huge impact on this band, compare it to any of their stuff without him. He's the man.
Ginger did them same for Hawkwind on their ‘Levitation’ album. Took their sound to another level.
okay is it just me or is that Jennifer Lopez dancing around? totally awesome song!
the devil can sometimes be a beautiful woman in a red dress
@bumratbob he's dead
This terrible stoner rock.
i do think the lyric 'get it on, children' is a bit unfortunate
