Pandit Anindo Chatterjee in his recent baithak said that..."aise bhi riyaaz ho sakta hai, jisse 100 saalon mein bhi kisi ko tabla bajaana na aaye"....I think I can see the glimpses of Panditji's statement here. If anybody tries to follow this idiot, he is done for life as far as playing tabla is concerned. The worst tabla player.

Even when I had no knowledge of Tabla, I seldom enjoyed his playing but at that time I could satisfy myself by considering that I am too ignorant to understand him or his Baaj. But, gradually I started listening to different tabla players of old era down to present times, Not even a single master had played so worst tabla as he do. Even, in Pakistan itself Ustad Shaukat hussain khan sahab and Ustad tari khan sahab played far better than him and also had a very soft, and pleasant tone. There Tabla can be said to be " Buzurgo waaala Tabla" where Tari ji has also added his flavor by accompanying masters like Mehdi sahan and Ghulam ali ji. Tari ji developed his own style of Sangat with light and semi classical music that has some sort of uniqueness and authenticity. But as for as Tafu ji is concerned, His tabla can surely make someone dislike this beautiful instrument. His Tabla is worst but he never acknowledges this fact. On the other hand he says at many occasions that Hindustani Tabla players are affraid of me. Although a highly talented man, he is undoubtedly a combo of arrogance, ignorance and foolishness who doesnt know the purpose and aims of this highly spiritual music. Inspite of enhancing the prestige of his master Ustad Qadir baksh, which ustad Allahrakh and ustad shaukat hussain khan sahab had done, I think that he had ruined Punjab Gharnaa's name. Many of his fan often claim that even Ustad Zakir ji considers him as his Guru and there is also video available on UA-cam where he is sitting with zakir ji . But, for me that video is just an example of zakir ji's humbleness and generosity than Tafu's genuis. Zakir ji just seemed to have paid respect to Guru bhai of his father nothing else. For me I would consider Ustad zakir ji, Pt. Anindo ji, Pt. kumar bose ji, Pt. Swapan Chaudhary ji, Pt. Nayan ji, Pt. Sanju sahai ji etc as real masters who have immense knowledge and command on the disciple.
