Writing a news story based on a quote or interview

The topic of a quote or interview news story may be interesting to the readers not only because it has a potential impact to them but also because it comes from a source who may either have some expertise or notoriety associated with the issue. The structure of this news story is similar to that of a speech news story. The only difference, however, is the beginning paragraph. A speech news story usually begins with a direct quotation while a quote or interview news story usually begins with a gist or summary of the statement.
