So many cool techniques and textures here! Love the etched copper and encaustic together, it's truly inspiring! Beautiful results! ❤ thank you so much for playing with me and I look forward to the next prompt. I also really loved the little clip you added of the kids playing 😊😊😊
Great project! I love encaustic wax! I actually use wax as glue on a porous surface. I only do encaustic work in the winter here in Texas because it just gets too hot from March through September. Loved the etching process too!
Yes, I’ve used the wax as the glue but this project I decided to dilute and see how that worked! It was successful. the etching looks so much better in person OR my photography skills are lacking😂. It is still cool enough here to get into my encaustic’s-I’m in Northern Georgia.
@@TwoOldCrowsMixedMedia I love etched copper! problem is I love everything, so I have to limit myself to certain mediums. I will get back to encaustics at one point but am currently obsessed with gelli printing and digital work!
Super video! This is the sort of thing I would love to be doing as well as the technical side. I love anything with copper and metals. I assume the real leaves were fresh or they looked fresh anyway, is the encaustic wax enough to keep the air away from them so they don’t deteriorate? I may have missed some point along the way, I love it. I would love to see it in person because I know photography can never capture it. I can’t wait for you to be back full-time and do these marvelous labor intensive makes. lol thank you so much!
So glad you liked it! I love metal too and have lots of sterling silver and copper in stock! I’ll have to incorporate more! The salt etching is such a great, non-toxic way to etch. The leaves were from the ones I gathered in December for the index cards! They have been in a book, under weight for a couple of months. They are fully encased in wax now!
