How to make a Line/Path on Google earth

Thanks for the tutorial, I'm learning more about paths to make them a useful tool for giving people directions.
However you didn't mention things like moving the map around while creating the path (which I know how to do, but all the same ... ) and also how to change the settings to make the time between long path distances better.

there is a problem when the second point in a ruler or path line is so far away that google earth plots in the shortest distance - backwards... I'm still trying to figure out how to, for example, mark out boston and new york, then extend the line so that it encompasses the entire globe and connects in a "straight" line. Sort of like producing the equator or the meridian but at any angle.

Very nice. Like you say very easy when we see the tools bare. How about on iPad with only bare on left side with now choice of building a part is it possible? Maybe helps I’m in Turkey

Because the earth is a globe, its gonna show the shortest distance. So if you want to draw a line around a certain Latitude it will not work. To make a line wrap around the world that line will have to cross the exact opposite side of the globe you started
(However you can follow a longitude (North south) line all the way around but it would go from north pole to south pole and around
