A couple things that helped me. At first I was impatient and tried to use a screw driver to pry off the lens's and install the new LED's. I was in a dark garage with a head lamp on. Very frustrated. Then I ordered some trim removal tools and tried again the next day outside in the light of day. Much better. I was able to pry open one side of the two map light lenses ( I have a Canyon) then pry down on the other side of the lens which unsnaps like a hinge. Once you see how it unsnaps the second lens was very easy to remove. The inner white shroud part stays in place so no room to grip the original bulb so I used a hook/ pick tool to remove the original light bulb which popped right out. Then carefully made contact to insert the new LED bulb (it flashed) , angled it up a little bit and pushed it in place with my finger tip and it lit up! Repeated with the others side. Both lit up no problem. I really didn't want to remove the whole assembly for fear of breaking something so I was happy to only remove the lenses and it worked out really well. I tried to find an assembly diagram on GMC's web sight but to now avail .Back two dome lightbulbs were much easier.
@@drivesafefoo I may have slightly broken the dome switch in the front because I didn't take off the whole piece like you did. I'll get it sorted since I literally just bought it last week brand new. The dealership will take care of it. This would have saved me the headache though lol
Thanks for the tip at 9:00. I was able to remove it on my 2021 Trailblazer, I've went with AUXITO T10 for mine. All 5 lights have been changed with no issue. Time will tell if they'll last.
Just a couple ideas. Turn the light switch off before removing the lights, they won't be hot. Also, watch DiodeDynamics video on how to do this...they show how you do not have to remove the entire front assembly. Also, do this during the day so you can see and show how to do this and have your ending show what it looks like at night.
I'll tell you right now after my experience, he did the right thing removing that from entire piece. More issues can acure the other way like breaking the switch without meaning to.
@@md.saunders6625 I agree...I think after my initial watching of the video and actually trying to replace mine, there was no way I was going to replace them without removing that center piece. Now, if I had a perfect light bulb removal tool I would have been able to do it...but I felt like I was going to crush the bulbs trying to remove them. Thanks for your reply!
I put LED head lights, interior lights, and license plate lights on my 02 Silverado I bought new and have took great care of it all these years ,,,,yet my 2023 Colorado Trail Boss has lights like my 02 Chevy used to have!
I found a third brake light on amazon that is LED, R&F Auto Smoked LED Third Brake Light Replacement for Colorado/Canyon (2015-2023) and cargo light. I have replaced the front turn signals and reverse lights also. Just ordered the interior led lights today after seeing your video and will refer back to it when they come in. Any luck on finding any led rear brake lights and turn signal lights? I haven't found any yet
Hi quick question after your install of the interior leds have you had any problems? fyi after I installed them my backup camera freaked out, just flickered so I shut the truck off for 20 min now its fine, weird.
I had the same problem, and wound up buying a Colorado from Michigan and had it transported to Oregon. It was much less expensive compared to what is sold around here, even with the transport cost. Look nation wide for what you're looking for, I'm sure it's out there. I didn't pay sales tax, so for CA just double check how that is handled and if there is a "use tax" or something like that for buying outside the state.
What i did was get inside right away an shut the doors. They r hard to get out so i used duck tape . Put it on each side of the bulb an pull straight out
one thing to keep in mind that GM highly dose not want any led in the z71 that is not factory . the garage allmost did not fix an issue i had becasue of this. IT is stupid they are less voltage than the 1970 builds . it is more like gm got lazy and only did hte headlights and fog to make people happy
The front dome/map light should be removed with more care. When I removed mine the interior light on/door/off switch remained in the overhead console held in place by small clips. You must have damaged them when removing it. Also with the correct trim tool you can release the clips on the rear and pull it down. It's not designed to be pushed backwards and pulled down, that's most likely why one of your retaining clips is now broken. The rear dome light has no off function because this is controlled by the switch on the front light.
* * * W A R N I N G * * * * I almost set my truck on fire. My fault for trusting a you tube video. "Drive Safe Foo" does not explain or demonstrate the correct way to install the new leds. The video does not show the leds being inserted. Stupid me just pushing the led in and expecting it to go in the right way. The instructions in this video are INCOMPLETE. The proper orientation of the bulbs in the front seat are NOT shown in the video. Check the orientation of the old bulbs as you remove them and be sure you put the leds in the same way. I had one of the front leds 90 degrees off and it caused a short and yes even flames!. Now the drivers side does not work at all. Like I said MY FAULT for trusting an incomplete video. You have been warned.
Hey! So instructions from LASFIT show if they Don’t turn on one way, you reinstall the other way. Theres only 2 possible ways a bulb can go in. Not sure how you got flames out of an LED bulb. Did you buy from LASFIT?
@@drivesafefoo oh I do disagree. I found at least 4 different ways that the bulb will insert! Mine would go straight up or at an angle. The flames happened because the bulb has major contact area on the bottom where the halogen bulbs only have a small wire and glass. The large piece of brass is all contact area on the led. You never showed how the bulb went in at all. Yes, these bulbs came from LASFIT.

Okay! Good to hear other options to get in there, pinning your comment to help others!
I just bought a 2024 Z71 Colorado and really wish I watched this video before I did this 😂. Great video and great tips thank you
Lol wachu do?? Thanks for the support🤙🏻

Looks great! Any tips after installing that you have learned about how to take the panels off with damaging anything? Tia
Looks really good!! I'm gonna change mines over as well! Hate that factory bulb lighting up that ugly Yello look!
Love my Lasfit led headlights!
Try turning off the lights and start with cool bulbs. Doesn't burn fingers that way.😄
Hell yeah looks amazing!
bright white/blue is MUUUUUCH better than the yellow stock thanks for the video
what kind of truck you got a 2023 Chevy Colorado Z71?
Right?? Worth it!! Yup that’s it!
I have a 22’ Z71 man I have the Sun☀️ inside my truck now lol it’s incredible went with Lasfit but I can’t find visor bulbs for it🫤

I know right! And they don’t run as hot as halogen! Def a must have mod in my opinion!

I just saw a video about that third brake light! Looks really dope! I think brake lights are same size as reverse lights and LASFIT might have some

Oh wow! Nothing on my end. Ive heard ppl have been having fuse issues. Where the fuses on the fuse box were loose. Nothing to do with LED though.
Have you looking at changing any of the rear brake lights and turn signal lights upgraded to Lasfit yet?
I will soon! The front LED turn signals are really bright so thats making me want to do the rear too
bro, is it dimmable or does the truck have a dimming function ??
The truck has auto dim as it shuts off 👍🏻
that looks good. what about the bed lights? do you have ur truck set up with those?
Yeah! On the website you can input your model and will give a list of bulbs you can buy
That Desert Tan color is the best … have been looking for one here in NorCal & they’re very hard to find as a Z71 w/ decent options.
Yup, i have the only Desert Dune metallic in Montana on my 23' Colorado trail boss!! Love it

You can always order one equipped exactly the way you want it if you’re willing to wait a few months!
What i did was get inside right away an shut the doors. They r hard to get out so i used duck tape . Put it on each side of the bulb an pull straight out
TAPE!! Niice!!
@drivesafefoo ya wrap it around the bulb an leave some hanging for grip. If the bulb does break its in the duck tape
Smart!! I got a latex glove for grip and yanked them off
Great video.
Do they have a color temp that’s a bit warmer? That looks too cool imo.
Not color temps, but diff overall color like red and blue from what I saw.
Thanks for sharing. I'm new to the Colorado community and ready to make some upgrades :)
Awesome! Welcome aboard!! 🤙🏼
the link I assume is for the colorado

You should make a video on the correct way to remove that whole thing
release the "rear" clips? are those the ones closer to the mirror or the ones closest to us?
Could you go into detail and maybe even tell us what the trim tool looks like?
How is the dimmer function on the lights work after changing to leds
Works the same as oem. Very smooth, not flickering
Hay wey!,,,,,,

I think it looks too bright
Too bright?
Not for me imo, i like the clean white look. Its not blinding while driving either
The video was great until you started with the hand gestures @ 6:05. The the hell does that mean?
Lmaoo just making sure camera could see my hands. 😂 👌🏻
