I don’t really care about it...perhaps I need to do reaction videos? Lol. I can NOT understand that type of content. I agree ...there’s a lot of mediocre guitar channels, but hey...I don’t begrudge those guys their success, apparently people love that stuff. Most of my lessons are kind of niche and a little advanced. I’m OK with a nice steady stream of cool people digging what I have to offer. I’ve met some great folks and have been having fun since I put up my first lesson last year. Thanks for the comment and for subscribing if you did. Take care, and stay in touch. Jack
Yeah...not quite sure where that came from. Kinda popped out while I was playing. I thought it was funny/a little special and kept it in there. Thanks for checking it out...and making it to the end!
Hey Curt, Are over on the Reddit group? That Gretsch looks familiar! If you’re into the Dead and Jerry’s playing in particular I think you’ll get a lot out of the content over on my page. It’s not the only style I cover, but it’s something I have some experience teaching. I hope it’s interesting to you. See you around!🍄 Cheers, Jack
@@jacksnax4guitar460 Yep that's me, I post on the subreddit sometimes as well. Just from what I've watched of yours so far, I've already gained some new insight on how to approach this style. I never want to play exactly like Jerry, or play the same way he does. But I do want a little bit of that flavor to come through when I'm soloing in my own style
@@blueishpurple I get that. I started out playing his stuff and over time brought more of myself out. When playing in a GD band there are certain licks that need to be hit and other spots where you can branch out/add your own flavor. Glad to have you on board! JD

Well...it was off the cuff. I was happy with the take. Usually I know exactly what I did...sorry this lesson is a little more of guide than an exact recipe. Hope it helps with your version of Shakedown... or any D minor jam.
@@jamesmorrison9893 I was just saying that normally I decide exactly what I did in my lessons...this is close, but not NFN. Certainly enough to show a determined student the way forward. Perhaps that’s even better from a teaching perspective? All good😊
I’m back to this again after a few months of being more dedicated to the guitar. Now that I have shaken the dust off I am more able to hold onto some of this amazing stuff. Thanks!
Hi, Me again. Question regarding the major scale/modes. How do you visualize this? Since its technically all in the c major scale. And in the beginning you play D Dorian, Since all of the root notes change to D It switches all the intervals. So you have to memorize how the intervals shift for each mode? Cause it takes long learning to remember them for a normal major scale?
bro this is great, i like how you explain the idea behind it. So isn't this all C Major right? But its different modes. But "technically" its all just notes from C major right?
Smokin' licks and presentation! Thank you. 🍄🎉🎸

You are incredible. Much respect 🌹
Just wonderful..... Gonna need to pack a lunch and sit under a tree for about 3 days working on this... will need more than one lunch i guess...

Hell yeah buddy
Superb. Love the tone too, what's your envelope filter?
Kemper on the intro
Mu-tron 4 during lesson
🔥🔥🔥
Thnx!!!
Is that is a jerry garcia signature strap on your red 335 guitar back in the rack? I have one myself I bought secondhand - classic 80s vibe :)
Yes
Hey! sick lesson, what pedal exactly are you using
Micro-Tron 4 but the tone with the strat was cut using the Kemper onboard envelope filter.
You got on that bus son
Since I was a kid! First show age 10

Yes that’s it. Remembering the impact of those changes “color” of the mode and what types of chords they work over. Trial and error.
