Watching these fights really shows me how much the game rewards skill if you get the counters right. You get to deal so much more damage, you get rewarded with more health and missile drops and against some bosses it also reduces the number of cycles needed to beat them. Really well played!
Also, the game is balanced in such a way that all bosses will die after you correctly perform the second parry, if you keep attacking during the animation afterwards. This game manages to strike that sweet spot between difficult and cinematic really well.

Truly incredible. Makes me feel like i didn't accomplish much by beating the last boss with all my gear! Great shinesparks on those robot chozos, too. Wish i would have thought of that. There are a couple ways you could go even faster, though: For Kraid, when he fires the three spikes one after the other (not all at once during the phase transition) you can jump onto the spikes and climb up to the top, skipping part of the lower phase. I don't see ANYONE doing this but that's what i did when i fought him. (You can jump on those things in Super Metroid, too, which is why i tried it!) Also you can alternate between beam and missile attacks by mashing attack and then intermittently tapping R1 to get a missile. While the missile is cooling down, you can continue firing normal shots. This will increase your damage rate in some sections. Maybe you know about this and had a different strategy in mind, but that's what i've seen speedrunners do.
This is amazing. Seeing you play so efficiently, especially when you were perfectly following Raven Beak's movements was fun to recognize and watch. You also made me realize that I can get two charged shots off per rotation while avoiding his rapid fire beam attack, but I know that aiming suddenly directly down or up while mid jump can be quite hard to pull off consistently. Awesome work! I'll probably use this video as a reference when I'm getting my ass kicked by Raven Beak
I have seen people defeating the Golzuna X-core with the Shinespark, so you can use that to end the fight even quicker. Also, is it possible to use the Shinespark during the Raven Beak's second phase? It does seem like the arena is big enough to activate Speedbooster.
It was a blind spot to use for the X core, thank you for telling me, Samus will die instantly when used for Raven Beak
@@ajibuta Is it because of you going 0% completion is why it'll kill you if you tried to use Shinespark against Raven Beak?
@@harlannguyen4048 Yes, if you have a lot of health, you won't die in reaction, but you can't damage Raven Beak.
@@ajibuta I guess the devs didn't want the player to cheese through this fight with Shinesparks.
And I thought MY button-mashing was fast.
You're amazing. You don't even look like you are struggling!
I did this in the second week, so I had the hardest time along the way.
I’m surprised nobody’s talking about the firing, I don’t even think Samus fires that fast in cutscenes!
yea I was thinking this.. like must have on rapid fire controller or something
@@jhuanpressley6398 Please see the video at the bottom of the summary section
Rapid fire. I seen Maxamillion Dood was playing with a PS4 controller, so it's possible
Wow, aside from really fantastic af execution, you also used moves that I didn't realize that you can (like the shinespark ones). This is the coolest video I've seen this year.
Thank you for watching, this game is really great, isn't it?
@@ajibuta yes, it is! I just finally beat it the other day. Took me 9 hours.. but it's my first try! My only complaint is that I wish there was a way to play as final Metroid form Samus because it'd be fun for a good bit of time to just blast all enemies with the gigantic laser blast at the end without the timer forcing you to leave and win..
Samus at that time was completely invincible, so it would be fun to use it in some extra mode.
You have to tell me, do you still enjoy the final boss fight? You've probably fought it over and over at this point. In my opinion it's probably the coolest fight in the whole Metroid franchise, so I hope you still enjoy it (although I guess you wouldn't make videos like this if you didn't)
Not to mention the final boss, I think this is the best 2D Metroid masterpiece.
@@ajibuta I agree! It's an instant classic, and it fits in so well next to the older games. I hope that the team wants to make more, this engine is gorgeous.
Your level of skill is absolutely insane.
Especially after I also just watched your video of you NOT using a turbo button on your pro controller.
Bravo, man. Bravo.
You saw that too, thank you very much
bloody helll man, i couldn't do well in boss fight even with full armor haha, died so many time pretty much for all the early-mid bosses, really nice play
ADAM: You cannot hope to face Raven Beak, even at your fullest potential. He is much too strong an opponent.
Samus, with the absolute bare minimum Arsenal: *How ‘bout I do anyway?*
one of the only things about this game that disappoints me is that raven beak's beam didn't scorch and scar the surrounding environment from all of his blasts during the final fight. would have been a neat detail to show, imo it would add an extra level of epic finality to the game.
Genuinely can't believe how quickly you beat Experiment Z-57
ボス戦でのシャインスパークとラスボス戦のパワーボム、そんなに有能アイテムだったのか
This video makes the bosses look like a peace of cake. :0
insane playing
I mean, I understand taking no damage the entire game would render energy tanks unnecessary....
...But no MISSILE tanks!?, you madlad!
The best compliment, thank you very much
