@@MemorySeekers Sounds like you folks would appreciate Freiburg im Breisgau in Germany. There the old town streets have water running in all the channels in them to cool the unwary tourists' feet as they walk around gawping. The cathedral tower there is a filigree masterpiece and you can escape the crowds in the woods of the Black Forest east of the city. 😉 Another fine video excursion through Ye Olde England boys! 😊
I am an Indian staying in Texas..there is a very slim chance of me visiting London, let alone this place.....so I appreciate you showing these small towns and villages as myself and my wife like to see the countryside and also watch Poirot and ETTC episodes to see quaint villages as well. 😊
No me canso de ver pueblos tan bonito , con casa que están desde antes del descubrimiento de América. Lo bien cuidado y limpio , las casa convertidas en cafeés , las iglesias y sus historias. Saludos desde Chile.
For me 14:43 was best of today .. very captivating video ❤ & loved 😍 it , the sounds of water & english music was fantastic 👌😀 houses, stores, bakery, chocolate factory & church views are just stunningly adorable 😊 I must mention the roads are very good, clean & comfortable to walk or travel.. since my girlhood I dreamed to visit England but couldn't till now, but your blog brings me huge hope if providence allow I may visit in future for im still in 30's... thanks for sharing 👍 & with best wishes & good health to you both.
WOW---I'm the first Commenter ( unbelievable really ) What a trully fantastic 'Village'' this is . As you say, most famous, nationally, because of that very entertaining and interesting TV series ''Banger's and Cash', I'm tempted to add, 'The everyday story of a Auctionering family''.What really impresses is the completeness of the Village?--to me , it resembles a Town, with it's size and bustle. I drove through Pickering once, on my way to Whitby from Somerset, I wish I'd known how close I'd been to Thornton-Le-Dale. Thanks for a great view, and interesting information.
That was quite a drive from somerset! Yes so close to Pickering which is a very different place is size and feel. Still lovely there though! We do enjoy watching Bangers and Cash, so it was great to visit the village it is set in!
I love all of the little shops and cafes but you wonder with so many if they make a living from selling their wares. I love the birdsong when there were no cars going past. Thank you again. =-)
Truly beautiful! & so tranquil! This lovely wee village is so quaint & charming! Cute cottages, shops & tearooms with such crystal clear water. Delightful!! Also excellent filming & presentation as always! Thank you for sharing another delightful experience!
W-O-W! 😉 The village is beautiful. The "stone" cottages are quaint and lovely. Wish I was there. England is so lovely and comforting. Thank you for the video. Enjoyed it immensely!
Lovely to take a walk through a town where nearly 500 years of my family have lived. I've never visited and now I'm in Canada so I don't think I'll have the opportunity!
Another stunning village, thank you for taking us along. I must compliment you guys once again on how well your videos are made. They are pure joy to watch! I certainly appreciate the effort that must go into making them. Thank you and keep them coming please!
Another beautiful village, thank you. I was struck by the lack of trash in this and other villages you have shown us. I recently did volunteer work picking up trash in the park, so I guess it's on my mind. I'm looking forward to more great videos, thanks again!
One of my favourite places to visit. It has one of the most beautiful car parks in Britain, how many people can park in a walled garden. We park our cars in the parking spaces , surrounded by beautiful flowers , shrubs and trees, full of singing tweeting birds, squirrels and other little creatures. A walk through a small wood brings you to the village, so much nicer than the busy city roads most of us are used to. It really is a beautiful village.😅
Yes the way it flows all the way through the village and by your side almost all the time, I cannot think of many villages we have seen where this is the case.
My goodness, what a beautiful town, thank you so much. your video's are so informative and the way you pan , so nice ans slow. kindest regards Qld. Australia.
A wonderful informative video. Lovely homes, lovely area & boy ur ice cream looked so delicious that I paused the video & ate a scoop myself 😉🤣. Thank u so much for taking the time to do these videos. They mean more to me than u begin to realize. Take care. Much love & peace … 🥰😉
That is not an area we have been to so far. But if you have some suggestions of old villages or historic towns we can certainly add them to our travel list so we don't miss them when are in the area.

Hi Simon and Will! A very beautiful peaceful village. The thatched roof on that 17th century cottage is nothing short of amazing. Equally amazing is that New York cherry cheesecake ice cream. 😋 yum! Thanks guys! ❤loved it! EDIT: given the town is called Thornton le Dale I was wondering if there’s a French connection here?
One of the finest possible villages. I love the beck flowing through it.
To have it running everywhere almost always at your side is very unusual. Was delightful!

The waterway through the village really does set the tone for the place. Lovely to see as summer heats up. A quiet, charming place.
It is so nice to have the river with you nearly all the time as you wander around. It certainly is getting hot here now!
Absolutely gorgeous! It is my dream to live in Yorkshire, particularly "Darrowby" 🤗
Do you mean Grassington from the second reboot? 😊

That wooden fence at the beginning is a fine of piece of work. At chamfered Tudor, back when fences were all the rage. How times change eh?
