Their music makes me cry. And I mean real, actual tears. Like I'm on the bus and this starts playing and I look around and suddendly get sad. But it's a weird kind of sad, though, becausa it's a sad i actually enjoy. I'm crying and smiling.

A necessary cry. I feel you. Sometimes just getting a good cry in is exactly what you need to feel better. It’s absolutely normal and it’s so good for you. You ever noticed how much better you feel after a good cry?

To me, this translates to the idea that depression and sorrow will take over you.. and weather you consider that optimistic or not, your heart (and what you could have to offer) is going to go to waste. Sorrow is an oddly comforting feeling and some make a home there while they might ignore if this is a good or bad thing for them. While they debate, or avoid - if they don't try, their heart will drown. Pay attention to the sorrow and heal the pinhole before it becomes a comforting sound

Perfect description of some time I did living on my own while working a travel job. I was SO in my own head and SO depressed, and just didn't need to be. "It is true what you say, that I live like a hermit in my own head. But when the sun shines again, I'll pull the curtains and blinds to let the light in. Sorrow drips into your heart through a pinhole, just like a faucet that leaks and there is comfort in the sound. But while you debate half empty or half full, it slowly rises, your love is gonna drown" I needed to pull the damned curtains already. I look back on that time and just kinda want to give myself a little shake. Life is a whole lot about how you choose to feel about it, and you can waste a lot of time being miserable because it's actually your comfortable space instead of being brave and spreading your wings a little. I love the visual here too. You TOTALLY have the ability to rip that damned bag off your head.

The reason why I love Death Cab for Cutie so much is because of it's lyrics and melodies that are so soft and so absolutely so touching that play in the background. The songs are always so relating to real life, and they are just bloody remarkable, incredible, and really truly no word can do it good. The music is amazing, their artistic videos are amazing (they're such a nice change to the things we now see on MTV, bleh), and a better band couldn't of done justice for the Indie Rock world.

If I could open my arms and span
The length of the isle of Manhattan
I'd bring it to where you are
Making a lake of the East River and Hudson
If I could open my mouth wide enough
For a marching band to march out
They would make your name sing and bend
Through alleys and bounce off all the buildings
I wish we could open our eyes
To see in all directions at the same time
    Oh what a beautiful view

Interesting video. My interpretation of this song has always been me on a beach, away from everything, just letting the stress of life go away. Life has beaten me up, and I give up. So now I'm just gonna leave the struggle and peace out somewhere far away.

I can't believe that some of these songs only have 100k views. I was just thinking how this has been one of my favorite albums as far back as I can remember. Maybe the good stuff isn't to be known by everyone.

    This is so weird.
I literally just had this conversation, and when I began this conversation, my friend linked me this song. It was only after we became ignorant again did I realize that what we just talked about, what we needed to resolve it, was exactly what they did.
I just need to find a way to make a hole in my paper bag, and to see my green field as is their beachside.
This is so brilliant. If you don't know what this video means, I almost hope you won't ever. Good luck in life all :)
