Thank You! I grew up in St. Cloud and left when I joined the military in 1963 (I'm 78). What a change.
Was not born in St. Cloud have been a resident since early 2000. Its a beautiful town, not so quiet as it used to be, more violence, shootings. Still proud to be a resident of this historic town
I was born there in 1957. My family moved to Marshall in 1964, and moved back in 1967. I lived there from then until 2003. Attended Madison Elementary, North Jr High, Apollo High, and St Cloud State U.
The last time I was there was last July. I don't want to live there anymore.
I was born the same year....I was in St.Cloud 15 years ago hitchhiking not a good stop for me until I made it to North western Minnesota....Been there ever since.
I live by Cathedral high school close by downtown. I'm 36 I lived there my whole life.

St. Cloud isn’t what it used to be back in the 70’s. I had worked there for a while and don’t miss it now with all the traffic and crime. Waite Park is the worst.

I am a black female, military veteran. I visited about 1 year or so ago to look at the university. As I was driving around the streets I saw women walking in full burkas, the head piece had the screen type of thing they talk thru … it startled the heck out of me… fully covered in black, even I was surprised by my response
I went to the Chipotle restaurant, the food looked gross… disorganized.. unclean…. I’m used to the food area being neat and clean ..all Somalis working there. I had no idea Somalis had such a presence in the town . ..
I am not a fan of organized religion period
It all turned me off, decided not to consider the university
It’s not bad. Been here 10 yrs never had a prob. Like all places there are good and bad. Great night life, concerts, golf, parks.
St. Cloud is in the way of going somewhere good. Schools and clinics ruined by freeloading guests from another country. Jobs have gone away. University imploding but there's always hockey. Stores have closed. Many car washes, chicken restaurants and convenience stores. Traffic is terrible and drivers are selfish and ignore stop lights and signs. Many liquor and THC stores. Crime is high and gangs are apparent. Jail is overcrowded. Mayor, city council and planning office ignore residents. Handouts to businesses downtown where nobody wants to go. Shopping mall is drying up. School board is weak. Property taxes are high. Dog owners will let their pets shit in your yard and not clean it up.

Don't forget to mention a plethora of minimum wage jobs for decades.
