My home town! I’ve been away 35 years and I’m still homesick. Hopefully I’ll be moving back soon.

Lived here for 3 years from 2005 to 2007. Looking back, it was the best move I have ever made.
The memories of my time here have made life a bit better

Not being rude, but could you clarify your comment to me please? Were you glad that you moved to Rochester and spent the time that you did there, or are you saying you were glad you left? I was a bit confused. Thanks ahead of time for your help. Take care.

@murphyotoole9014 No problem. The best move I have made was moving there. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I only left to further my education, where my path in life never brought me back. The memories of those short 2 years and 8 months of my life had more of an impact on me than the following decade after.

This is an interesting video of Rochester. In the last quarter segment they drive right past our old house and Edison school.

Nice video, but are you sure this video was filmed in 2021? The apartment building at 5:30 was only recently built, and the yellowish tint of weather reminds me of wildfires past summer.

So Mayo Clinic is here. My husband will have surgery there September 25. I've never been to Minnesota. Looks a lot different than Tennessee that's for sure

In fact, the first white settlers in the Rochester area were a couple by the name of George and Henrietta Head. Their new home reminded them of their old home Rochester, NY, so the name stuck.

15:37 Did she have a green light to cross the street or is that just ignorance? Either way seems outrageous to me! :D

You were right . . entitled idiot . .. and if they did mess up, you would think they would at least throw up a hand to say "thank you" for stopping and keeping a respectable distance away from them rather than the person driving pulling up 1 ft away and acting like "get out of the way!!"

Oh man, 9 years of my life working and living there. Feels weird to see it again. Hated it there so much. Absolutely nothing to do and just far enough away from Minneapolis to go there.

Why would you want to go to Minneapolis? Get shot or tour through BLM destruction?

Rochester, Minnesota would be just another typical hole-in-the-wall type of town if it wasn't for the Mayo Clinic. Lived there 4 years from 2020 to the end of 2024. Miss nothing about that town, nor anything else about that entire state.

Horrible place to live, the best thing to do in Rochester is to leave Rochester. If you're not working at Mayo clinic good luck finding a decent job

These tour videos that people make are not good. All you see is straight ahead and nothing on the sides. Even though you drive speed limit it looks fast in video and you don’t see a thing

CAWchester....home of crows, the boring, bland, taxes-will-kill-ya nothing to do town , (causing hundreds of homeless folk everywhere, which the city kicks out, 'cuz there's nowhere for them to go) home of Mayo; ruler of all. Any historic buildings we had (and there were many) have been bulldozed down for the 5.5 billion dollar Mayo DMC project (AKA own ALL of Rochester)
for cheap, $1400 month slapped-up apts for the low income, while the 1.5 million dollar homes are still being pumped out.
A wanna-be city with no personality, you saw the ugly glass and brick bland buidings downtown, to the residential areas...the only nice, older, and still left appealing spots in this over-priced town. Or, if you're around 30 yo, the 52 BREWPUBS that are a must have with the high end restaurants catering to same. If you're older, don't bother looking for any family style restaurants; the city already drove them all out with tehir insane propery taxes. Eben the good, big grocery stores pulled out for the same resaon. Many of my friends owned the restaurants, businesses, and grocery stores, so you are hearing FACTS. It's your choicce what you're looking for....
