At this point, I was a freshman in high school. And I wanted so bad for the Jazz to down the Bulls that year AND the next. I remember as I was getting my television ready for Game One of the 1997 NBA Finals I was like, "All right. That's it, Chicago. You've won four titles already. It's time for someone else to wear the crown now. So good luck Utah!" Well, we all know what happened next, I'm afraid.

Too little too late for the Jazz!! 1994 and 1995 were their years and they lost to the Rockets both times only to finally beat the Rockets when Jordan was back in full force.... hence too late!!!!!

David Stern! I don't blame clay bennet for underhandedly trying to steal a franchise away, we all knew he was going to try. It's mr starbucks and stern I blame. after a slight downturn mr billionaire had to close 1 of his 8 per square block $5 a cup coffee joints and sell the sonics to someone he knew would try to move them to beautiful downtown oklahoma city. that's where numb nuts stern came in. I'm certain he received kickback from bennett for allowing the kipeing of a stable franchise. It still pisses me off to go into the dirty pool stern pulled...

It was 1997. I was 11 years old, sitting in my bedroom in Houston watching this man dismantle a team I thought was unbeatable. I started watching basketball during the 93-94 season, and all I knew was that Hakeem and the Rockets were the best team in the world. This shot still makes my heart sink.

Who would have thought that John Stockton, the NBA's all-time assists leader, would have made perhaps the greatest shot in the history of the Utah Jazz? As gratifying as it must have been for the Jazz to finally get past the Rockets after Houston beat them in both 94 and 95 en route to their two championships, sadly, it was at least a couple of years too late, and the Jazz ended up being just another victim of the Bulls' dynasty.

I can recall 2 exciting moments watching sports when I totally went semi-berserk, this game and the NLDS game 7 Atlanta vs Pittsburgh...both instances my team came from behind to win it. That kind of situation doesn't come often so it's very exciting when it does.

i saw this game live on the TV in Philippines & was yelling for joy when Stockton made that shot.
i was shocked to learn not only did this amazing moment happen on the 29th of May 1997, but also, perhaps around the same time, Jeff Buckley waded into the waters of Wolf River Harbor in Memphis, singing A Whole Lotta Love, never knowing those were the last notes he'd ever sing. he would drown moments later.
it's amazing to know where one was during important moments like the two mentioned earlier.

What a player. It’s unfortunate he had to meet the eater of worlds, destroyer of destiny and doombringer of dreams Michael Jordan in the finals. I say that out of love for Jordan. People today just don’t realize how good we had it in the 90s. It’s funny tho, like so many awesome story lines, like this one or the Barkley mvp season with the suns, always just ended up the same way. Jordan destroys them in the finals lol.

Can't breath on someone without hearing a whistle. Not to mention all the clowns and their unwanted political opinions, race card burn loot murder, communist supporters. No thanks.
