Milton… I’m new to Bonsai but I am learning. I very much enjoy your channel. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. You are a true artist sir!
Thank you so much. I appreciate you sharing your experience and expertise. My little bonsai garden here in Indiana is thriving. I’m still working to understand soils and watering. I’ll stay plugged in!
Hi I had the same problem with my Azalea last summer we had a very hot spell as you described with yours the tree seemed alright when we went into a bad winter and just gradually went down hill, no matter what I tried the tree wouldn’t respond so eventually there was no hope of it being saved, all I can assume is along with other trees in my collection they went into winter weak but looked fine at the start of the winter season, I’d checked the roots to see if I could work out why but all the fibrous roots had died, other people in the U.K. had similar loses I believe. Thank you for your helpful videos. Joe.
Thanks for sharing your bonsai story, Joe! Hopefully, others in this bonsai community can relate or learn from your story. I love that we're building a community here!
I wish your video had been about 6 weeks ago. I had repotted one of my best chinese elms. Went on holiday confident my watering system would cope with the heat. Everything did fine except my elm. It must have been due to my repotting it. Unfortunately to far gone to rescue.😢 I love your videos they are very instructive Thank you from the UK
No worries, I killed a lot of trees when I first started bonsai. Keep going and you will learn through trial and error! Best of luck to your and your bonsai!
I like your soil mixture Mr. Chang. The "Sandy Loam" component that you use, I understand you get yours from your property or farm. For someone who doesn't have direct access to sandy loam, is there a general product that can be bought that is similar?
Please make more videos with smaller plants and monthly progress as plants are worked on to have more videos of overall talent. Great video and explained.
_THANK YOU_ ... 🙏 😔 🙏 Mr. Chang, anytime, that anyone, takes the time and effort to educate me, I am very thankful and overjoyed by their thoughtfulness. I found this video very useful. Again thank you. 🙏 🖖 🙏 😔 🙏

I can't find any Sandy Loam at any nursery near San Diego, I find alot of Bulk sites. Any good substitute?
Sandy loam can be found in landscaping supply shops, not in nurseries. You can always use the topsoil from your garden…close enough!
Good to know.
Sorry, I can’t get my head around a fibrous root. Is it the small roots at the very end. Thank you….
Yes…and as they grow, they continue to spread…whereas an original root turns woody.
