We booked our tickets on line a few days before we planned to travel but instead of picking them up at the ferry terminal we just went to a travel agent in town and they printed them out for us...no waiting in line. We also stayed at Langas Villa’s, Nick and his family are just the best.
What a great tip! Waiting in the line was so stressful! How fun that you stayed there too! Nick and his family really are the best! We absolutely loved staying there!
Do you remember what suite you stayed in at the hotel?
I am planning a solo trip in September, how far of a walk is this location to oia?
So I'm not sure how far the walk is because we drove there on the Quad but I;m pretty sure there are trails along the water side that you could walk, I would just maybe do a little more research to see how far it is since it does get really hot when you're walking in the sun. Have fun on your trip!
I forgot to ask you, any other places you recommend for weddings or great meals? :) Can you rent scooters or bikes? What would be best? :)
We just got back Sept. 2024, we rented a car, loved the flexibility if offered, stayed at The San Antonio, parked right outside the hotel, I can't recommend it highly enough, beautiful unobstructed views right on the caldera, beautiful spacious rooms, gorgeous infinity pool, not many stairs, free breakfast, so delicious, made to order 8 am- 12:00 pm, . For Restaurants for dinners out, we loved The Old Barber Shop Restaurant-Cafe in Emporio, Metaxi Mas in Exogonia, Finikia in Oia, Anogi in Imerovigili, and Yogi's in Fira for lamb gyros

Thank you! I don't remember the room number at this point but it was a small hotel with only a couple rooms and they all looked like they had good views of the water!
Why not fly from Athens to Santorini ???
Totally possible. We just don't like small airplanes, not big fans of flying.

It's where moved from. So Washington to Germany. Greece just happened to be a vacation we took while living as expats in Germany
