@@jasonyesmarc309 @The_Farwall It’s technically to the sequel to a mod of a doom mod. And you can mod both of these for custom characters and tracks and levels
Holy shit, this has to be the biggest channel covering the game so far...and I'm so glad its finally getting this amount of traction. Many had been waiting for it as the sequel of SRB2Kart for FIVE years, me included, with the biggest selling feature of the ne wgame being that it would have bots and single player stuff as you noticed along with a big new coat of paint for tracks and characters [plus more of those included by default]. When you get some real good grips with how the game plays, it is a real treat to handle, and also has quite a lot of care put into the presentation.
Useful tip: Whenever you get hit with an item and come to a complete stop, its faster to just spin dash back up to full speed (same when on slopes too! see: 9:53) Another tip: Press the item button DURING the roulette to select an item like a slot machine - meaning theoretically if you're good enough, you can always choose the item you want to pull. You've picked up the mechanics so quickly! This game is a gem once you give it a chance and gets more enjoyable after every session, I was super happy when you picked up the devious starting line shenanigans. 🎉
Hear, hear! The Spindash is probably my favorite Sonic Riders-like feature here, and it's amazing. Climb up slopes, get out of rough terrain... AND it charges up much faster if you got no rings!
The ring system is such a well-thought out mechanic that constructs risk-reward. When you boost, you'll want to hold on to a few extra rings in your pocket so that you dont get hit and spin out (this happens on bump with any other racer when at 0 rings). BUT here's where it gets interesting: The instawhip (the parry thing) can hit racers and cause them to spin out EVEN IF THEY HAVE RINGS - thus, if you want to go for plays, you can deplete your ring gauge (and thus defences) to gain access to instawhip to knock someone out. So cool :3
Just in case -- whenever you feel like you don't have enough rings to boost up a slope, use the Spindash (the 3-2-1-GO thing). If you're mad stuck, hold Respawn to spawn the Ring Shooter... or drive through another player's Ring Shooter! The Insta-Whip can also hit enemies THROUGH invincibility and other power-ups that would normally make someone nigh-invulnerable. Just don't touch them!
And 2.2 adds the Auto-Ring accessiblity feature to help you learn how to feed the rings to the engine. Basically the Auto Gear vs Manual Gear from the "serious face" racers!
I coul not believe that the guy who did a fair whack of original music from this, Tyron, is the same guy who does the Kusoge Advent Calander every year lmao (an annual marathon from the 1st to the 20-something-th of December where he plays completely obscure and often terrible fighting games)
Its actually crazy seeing a channel this big showcasr this game. Im really glad you guys went out your way to give ring racers the recognition it deserves, and really hope this acts as a foundation for more to come!!!

Now that NerdCubed Challenges are back, maybe there's a chance of seeing a Permadeath of Crash Bandicoot 2 on the PS1? The Crash Bandicoot permadeath will be 10 years old next year, and it's still great (apart from sometimes wasting invincibility).
I enjoyed Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart, so I'm interested in this sequel. That said, I have only heard how mental the tutorial is and how the game has a bazillion mechanics for no reason, so I'm hesitant to play.
If you believe yourself good enough without the tutorial, turn around when you spawn into it and go through the door. The tutorial skip portal is in there. But be warned, the game WILL test you to see if you really are ready to skip the tutorial. Also, that tutorial skip is the only way to unlock one of the tracks, so you're gonna have to do it eventually.
The devs are listening to community feedback, so tutorial's been improved and streamlined (with the exits for experienced and returning players peppered all throughout). Also, the tutorial's surprisingly well written for a racing game. =) Worth seeing it!
@@firedreadyblocks7427 I know it is easy to laugh at people with small attention spans, but there is something to be said about feature creep in games. The best kart racing game ever made (Crash Team Racing) is incredibly easy to pick up, but fairly difficult to master, because all you need to learn to get good is the boost mechanic. Ring Racers, in comparison, has a bizarre amount of little mechanics that ends up creating an overly long tutorial for a kart racer.
@@blobbem "for a Kart racer" Why can't DRRR be different? What makes other game's tutorials that take 30+ mins to complete, more acceptable than DRRR's? So many people bash on the game for not being easy to pick up and play, and while that means that it will have a smaller audience (which the devs knew from the start, they made a statement about it), that isn't necessarily a BAD thing. While there are a lot of mechanics, there aren't too many. Most of them are situational. Similar to driving irl, while there may be a ton of things you have to do to drive safe (check every mirror, look every direction before going, turn on blinkers, etc, etc) you aren't having to do ALL of them at the SAME time. You only have to do certain things, when the situation calls for it.
The handling of the carts looks interesting. It looks like you have to be concerned with slowing down just as much as speeding up. A hybrid of arcade and sim racing

Also I feel you with the "leaning in chair while making a turn in a racing game" bit, haha
This game is absurdly good, but I can’t play it anymore because the AI on Grand Prix mode has dynamic difficulty. Which means the better you do, the harder they get. I wanted to play on gear 1 to relax from gear 2, only to get smashed on the fourth race because I was doing too well lmao
