2001 Ford F350 7.3 Powerstroke - RiffRaff Banjo Bolts Install upgrade for better high fuel flow
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 жов 2024
- I was putting this aside thinking it will be hard to install them, and honestly its no harder than just disconnecting and removing 2 batteries from the truck, i thought there will be a lot more work involved on getting these done. Now i will have better higher fuel flow and less restrictions. Enjoy!

There are actually 4 banjo bolts. Two per head. First maximum flow and least amount of fuel turbulence.
Man you got to have one of the best running 7.3’s with all the mods done
Thanks appreciate it, I refused to get a tuner until I made it 1000% perfect. I gave 2 more mods and she’s perfect!!!
FixItNick I don’t blame you. I am like you. Put in the work with good parts. Make it a good running truck. Then maybe a tuner.
Hey nick isn’t there 4 of those ?
@@shadetreediesel6973 I'm not positive, but I believe there's only two...
I just genuinely like how you keep your engine bay so clean. Some people don’t take the time to clean as they go like you do. Such a nice and clean 7.3 brother!
Thanks man, makes me feel proud that there is currently not a single drop of oil lol
That immediately jumped out to me too. Cleanest engine bay and components I think I've ever seen.
Well when you don’t have a real job. It is super easy to do unnecessary things. Those of us who actually Work with our trucks. Don’t have time to waste doing that garbage!
I really appreciate you putting up all the videos on mods I want to do on my own 7.3! Makes it easier to commit to actually doing them.
Glad it helps someone :))
I knew something had been missing. Matthew is back! Long term upgrade, 10 years from now a 2020 Powerstroke goes in....and the mods start all over again. Already looking forward to it.
Haha he will working in a Cummins in a year or less lol
@@FixItNick Great plan! I love my 01 7.3, but my dream truck is an 08-10 Lariat or King Ranch with a Cummins swap. Can't beat a Fummins!
I’m doing my truck just like yours very nice and clean thanks for all the information I was going to sale my truck but now it’s off the market keep up the good works
Super Nice upgraded Banjo Bolts Bro sweet 👌 👍 @FixItNick
Solid video. I like the music, Matthew (I usually edit out me barking at the kids but you’re clearly a patient father) and the commentary is on point as always. Once again, thanks for making a semi-difficult mod look easy AF. 😀
Thanks brother... or there is plenty of barking around LOL ... you did these yet? If not only do them with CVD fittings as well
FixItNick Yeah man, I had the banjo bolts and cvd fittings done at the same time.
There are 4 Banjo bolts 2 on each head. Changed all 4 of mine, from Riffraff.
I guess he don't want to reply to anyone about the 4 banjo bolts. Are there 4 or 2?
@@mattparks5398 On a 7.3 there are 4, 2 on each head.
Thought for sure you'd give improvement info. How did this change acceleration, mpg, idle, and startup? Any noticeable gains? Quieter/ louder?
Love your videos and how easy you make these upgrades look, however I wish you would name off what size nuts or sockets you’re using to remove parts.
Pretty sure you just use a 1/4" square drive to remove/ install the banjo bolts
I love your channel and work ethic, saying that ... Most 7.3 experts consider this a waste of money and will DO NOTHING.. carry on !
Wrong I've seen it myself comparing 2 - 2000 7.3s. The bone stock truck doesn't run nearly as well as the mod truck, which does not have new injectors nor a tuner mind you, just all the goodie air, exhaust, fuel mods, it runs way better no doubt.
Great video as Always Nick Broski @FixItNick
Hey so first off love the channel i have learned alot off of here. I also have an F350. I was goin to start gettin stuff to help the fuel flow better. Im goin to get the FRX, CVD, and the Banjo bolts. I was just wondering how well your truck is preforming. Im not lookin to have the fastest truck in the world. Just want to be more reliable. Yes i do have a tune but it just a TS6
I should have done these and the crossover when I rebuilt my turbo.
Great mod buddy, Matthew is becoming a great help too👍🏻😎😎😎😎 hope the performance improves Nick 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😉
That’s the cleanest motor ever😂😂😂 me and my dad both have 7.3s my dad has a 01 f350 and I have a 99 f550
I drilled the stock ones along with the cc’d fitting. Works just the same.
I hope riffraff is giving you a sponsor to how much you promote them lol.
They is lol
Thanks for the tip!
The original banjo bolts are a known cause of fuel starvation? I have not heard of this issue.
Great install video Nick @FixItNick
When I did my rifraf banjo bolts it was way easier to pull my down pipe.
You do t need to at all super easy from bellow
Did this help improve your fuel economy any ?
There us one behind the bracket that hold your A/C compressor, mine was leaking because the O-ring gave up.
Maybe there is one more behind the engine on the driver's side
It's kinda important to keep my motor clean because if you have a leak is hard to find where it's coming from with a dirty motor
I have a 2001 F550 I would like to put the King Ranch seats in there and update the cluster
Can you make a video of the truck running and remove the oil cap. I have a 2001 platinum 7.3 with 437,500 miles and it steams really little and i know your truck is like brand new i just wanna see if your steams like mine
I had no idea they made the Platinum that early! I've only ever seen Lariats or King Ranches. Guess I know what I'll be shopping for!
@@rickfowler5342 yes sir mine is for sale if your interested let me know
Your vids make me wanna get a 7.3. Would you suggest getting into one with 300+ miles?
Nope I'm not Nick, However I've owned one for over 7 years. You need to be aware of what you want in a truck and what it's going to be used for. They are work trucks, they're not Cadillac's or one of today's comfort trucks; meaning this particular trucks is built to work and rides like a TANK! They're very rough to ride in on roads that are not well maintained, like here in the south. The reason the 99-04 are rough riders on bad roads is that they employ leaf springs on the front and back for heavy work.
However they are extremely reliable and will go close to 1 Million miles if you maintain the engine properly. Because they are so reliable a lot of folks who own them may skip some of the maintenance, so plan on doing some when you get one to ensure it remains reliable. Other than the height of the engine bay they are very easy to work on. They're also fun to mod, as you can see in Nicks videos. Nick does a great job of showing how to do some great upgrades and how an old beater that he purchased can become a really nice truck. So Sub Nick, you're going to want to know more about them & the other cool projects he's working on.
Here's some info on the versions of the F-250/F-350 Super Duty's: No FULL Size F-150's were made in those years.
- Early pre 99 1/2 they had smaller turbos but can be updated if you need a little more power.
- Late 99 1/2 obviously had a larger turbo and made a little more power and got slightly better mileage. Those are the major changes on the 99 and later engines.
- Short bed & Long bed bed versions. I'm pretty sure both were Fleet Sides (smooth sides).
- DRW (Dualley two rear tires on each side) great for heavy duty pulling a full size trailer or 5th wheel campers etc.
- SRW (Single Rear Tires on each side). These got better mileage by a few MPG and are good for medium pulling.
- Single, Extended and Full Crew Cabs for both SRW & DRW wheel versions.
- 2WD & 4WD options were also available on all SRW, DRW and Cab versions.
So if you're looking for a very reliable truck, and aren't going to drive it daily, 15-19 MPG, this is a super truck. Get a SRW Crew Cab for the casual use and the ability to take the family or some guys out to get the job done.
Before you run out and purchase one do your homework on the condition of the truck you're looking at.
There's a guy called Bill Hewwitt on UA-cam who repairs and sells these truck for a living.- His Channel is Powerstrokehelp.
- He has a 4 part series video on how to buy one of these truck and what to look for here: ua-cam.com/video/PdmDLsAu61E/v-deo.html
- He also has a video called "WHAT YEAR POWERSTROKE IS BEST?" Here: ua-cam.com/video/8o2LGuzl0go/v-deo.html
I would start there to do your homework before committing to purchasing one of these trucks.
As a 7.3L owner, that's my take on it. PS mine has almost 300,000 and I just this year replaced the ORIGINAL 2001 AC unit, hoses & all associated parts under the hood. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya
I bought a1999 with 310,000 miles for 6,000 dollars 2 years ago runs great looks new. Best truck I’ve ever owned! No problems. 375,000 miles now.
Thank you all!
7.3s weak spots are O rings, on the fuel drain valve, HPOP fittings o rings that go to oil lines, those are the usual weak spots
FixItNick that’s good to have in mind. Much appreciated! God Bless!
Will this make it easier to over fuel … (raise EGT temps) if not on the throttle hard enough to keep the rpms up ?
7:21 Next upgrade- “ Anti- Exhaust rattle, High torque mini starter”
I have a 6.7 starter laying around that I been wanting to for soon
I was hoping you would do this mod. I have been thinking about doing the mod myself, but I wasn't sure how it would effect fuel economy and if it was worth the effort. Can you provide your thoughts on if or how much it has effected your fuel economy and if you notice any difference in horsepower. I know there was another mod. you did that you said you probably would not do again if you had it to do over. Would you do this mod. again knowing what you know now?
Just did the mod I don’t see it improving MPGs but it might improve performance since fuel will flow better. But I’d would only do this if doing the CVD fittings or upgrading fuel lines (those come with better flow CVD fittings over stock). I forgot what mod I said I wouldn’t do again lol
What spider is that ..... how is it that clean.... ....nice work!
You should do a newer super duty dash swap
Yes I want to, part of the plan
Need help! How do you get the 4th bolt out behind the pulley
Could have achieved the same thing by removing Factory banjo bolts and boring one of the two holes out to quarter inch that's what I did works great
Yes but these are cuter and less headaches lol
Hey all that matters is that it does the job... you might also notice and colder temperatures at idle little smoke a little bit more that's just because of the more volume of fuel
It'll be a subtle white smoke if it happens to you it happened to mine drove myself crazy thinking there was an issue when there was not
What causes the truck to smell like unburned fuel
What difference to expect in the truck?
Gives higher fuel flow along with CVD fittings, more power when smashing the pedal due to less restriction
will that give u better fuel miles
Nick! Get some sprinklers in the lawn man. I know its dry and hot but no reason to have dead grass
Our house doesn’t have sprinkler pipes anywhere sadly. Planning on trenching those in 2021 I think after ground gets softer after rains
You should do the sell it to me mod😁
Is the banjo bolt worth it for stock f250 7.3
All the little things add up and improve the 7.3 overall, it’s hArdly noticeable but makes it more reliable in the long run
Mine sounds like a drunk tractor compared to yours lol😅
Why only two banjos and not all 4?
Because you only need theM where the fuel line feeds into the head
This mod does absolutely nothing except give profits to RiffRaff
Sludos men
A what? Lol
I Lik mustang this truck is so ugly
LOL, yeah Mustangs make ugly trucks too, especially when you use it like one! Personally I like the 68/69 Fastback Mach 1's or the Cobra's. I think they are the prettiest and baddest muscle cars out there! You should watch videos that have Mustangs in them rather than a truck video that's not about a Mustang. The 99-2004 F250/350's are no the best looking Ford Truck but they are the most reliable ones. Some guys hate the look so much they have actually taken the front ends off newer ones, along with the interiors, and put them on those years. That mod is so popular that there are even kits to do that. I would love to do it to mine but the kit and cost are very high so I keep it ugly. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya
Haha don’t worry I think the nose is ugly also, I will put a 2016 nose on her
148148 for mileage, dang thats low
