I love your creative use of a green waste wheelie bin!
A labour of love and a public safety film to boot. Children don't play with springs 🙈🙈
Learn from our example 😂
Good work team and Jnr 👍
Thank you!
Nice job, looks amazing. Can’t wait to see it being rebuilt.
Wont be long now hopefully, just waiting on a few parts to be delivered! Exciting stuff!
Nice job! It's really coming along. Time to start putting parts back on!
Going to be great to start building things back up with lovely fresh parts!
Great video guys! those bits are coming up really nice!
Cheers buddy!
Really enjoyed that video. Thanks 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 😁
An absolutely superb job, I stand corrected having suggested you powder coat your results are far superior. I was in fear for your digits when that spring clamp let got. Keep up the great work and content 👍
Glad we decided not to powder coat. We think it's a better and longer lasting finish. Plus we don't have to wait around for them to get done! Lewis' fingers will live to see another day 😂
Ooohh I hate spring clamps and you demonstrated perfectly why. I was among the powder coaters too, but you've done a fabulous job painting and saved money. Good welding, panel beating, and spraying is witchcraft I'm incapable of. I love watching talented folks like you making it look sooooo easy when it isn't.
Thank you very much! Glad you're enjoying the channel
Cut a short piece of garden hose and put it on the banjo bolts then put them back on the rack before cleaning, that way you don't get crud going inside the rack and oil pipes while cleaning which could become expensive.
Also if you fit rear lowering springs then you need an adjustable pannard rod because the axle will not be centered correctly once lowered it will be off centre
Have no fear....we have adjustable everything! You'll see it all in a future episode 👍
One word amazing
Thank you very much Paul!
Brilliant video, I'm not mechanically skilled, but there appears to be no limits to your skills!
Thank you! Always try to give most things ago...apart from modern clutches and timing belts 😂
Typical, Leanne! Can't leave Lewis alone for 5 minutes & he takes everything to bits... just what I would do too 🤣🤣 Looking excellent though! Cheers. Leigh.
Never mind taking bits apart...did you see what he did to my tools! 😱
@@WhitelandRestorations Yes I did, Leanne!! The naughty boy!!
No longer working in a garage with access to a floor mounted spring compressor I did a front spring scrabbling about in the dirt the other day. I also didn't die but them clamps keep you on your toes !
100 % approve of the autodoc eibach and bilstien combination 👍 I have the same set up on my mk3 cavalier and mk6 golf and it's great 😉
Can't wait to get everything back on and see how it handles. It's going to be like a new car!
Ouch for Lewis' Mum.
Hope she recovers soon.
6 weeks of no driving I'm afraid. At least nothing else was broken!
@Whiteland Restorations Someone's going to be operating a taxi service for a while then.
As I remember public transport in that part of rural Wales is not the best, unless you have a Dial a Ride service in the area.
Bonjour. Toujours du travail de qualité. 👍🚗👌
Merci d'avoir regardé! J'espère que les sous-titres sont ok, ils sont générés automatiquement 😁
Looking really good. So much effort, shame you won't see it. You'll have to park the car with a mirror underneath it.
Lol lucky it has a big boot....excuse me while I get out my full length mirror 😂
It was a bit like the Blair Witch project at the end there with those parts hanging like that. Great work.
That's just what I was thinking but I thought, if I make that comment no one will get it!
@@Nino500 Probably not many did. 😁
Polestar are basically Geely/Volvo, and the Polestar 1 was manufactured entirely in Chengdu, China. A Gothenburg factory is being built, but the Polestar 2 is being manufactured entirely at another Geely factory in Taizhou, China. Geely Holdings have a powerful influence on Volvo production over there.
As for Volvo, their recent history is rather complex, with historical links to VW, Ford, what eventually became Stellantis, and a number of other manufacturers.
These factors make you wonder seriously whether the legendary build quality of Volvo cars has been maintained. Only time will tell.
You're absolutely right Lewis, if you're going to do it, do it right. The Volvo continues to surprise when it comes to welding. I already saw the shiny undercarriage parts passing by when you were in the 24 h live stream of UpnDown.
Ahh how very observant of you! Good spot lol!
Kind of bummed with the lack of crocs to assist with the sketchy spring clamps
We were missing some rubber grip that's it!
I'm a terrible welder, but I'd've been ashamed letting those front struts go like that! 😲
Shocking isn't it.... what some people get away with!
Hey guys just wondering how your tight 1 month deadline on your 240 project is going from 1 year ago. Looks amazing guys nice work!
It's still the same month right? We havent even been home yet 🤣
I just recently crashed my 245. It’s the first real crash I’ve ever been in. It happened so fast. Wish I had the access and expertise you guys do so I wouldn’t have to junk it. It still doesn’t feel real. I’m sitting here living vicariously through you guys as I can’t afford the high attention to detail you guys can. Keep up the great work
Oh no hope you're alright Brennan. Cars can be fixed, people are harder to mend! Is it very badly damaged?
22:42 Modern Art Installation by Lewis… (probably inspired by Jean Tinguely)
People would pay to see that!
@@WhitelandRestorations Indeed! 😄
Waiting for this video kept me in "suspense"...
Baboom tish!
@@WhitelandRestorations No job is so tedious that a bit of humour can't lighten the situation. You folks do quality work with a touch of whimsy; that is appreciated.
I saw that, it tried to kill you, lucky you had those gloves on. That was one nasty spring!!!.
Nasty nasty spring! Got away with that one
Having used spring compressors by nature they are trying to work against the relative angle of the springs so want to "let go" because the geometry is all to cock.Hatefull tooling as you demonstrated.I got very lucky on a vectra that made me realise just how much energy is stored once under compression.Use three for belt and braces and do each one up in order just a half turn at a time but still keep ready if one slips because if one goes the others will by virtue want to go too.
Yeah we usually use three but got a bit overconfident. They are lethal things....we will be upgrading to a floor mounted one for the next Suspension job!
@@WhitelandRestorations I A wise choice.Just look up Hookes Law if you want to know how much energy can be contained in a coil.Alot.Certainly enough to spoil your day.
Another mk2 rs2000 in the works I see, wheres the supersport
Supersport is coming back in the new year 😁👍
There's a bolt down inside the tube of the strut and you can remove the whole stub assembly from the strut in one assembly
