Dear Nishan, we are currently on Chancenkarte (Opportunity Card) visa. We will soon be posting video about the visa process and our experience so far. Hopefully, it will help others to apply for this visa on their own.
No, we don’t have any previous European experience. We used to live in India before this.

Dear Leena, that’s a good question 😊
We manage our expenses by budgeting key categories: rent, groceries, transportation, and insurance. Rent is our biggest expense, but we save by choosing a smaller, well-located apartment. Groceries are affordable thanks to stores like Aldi and Lidl, with Indian essentials bought from ethnic stores. We mostly cook at home to avoid dining-out costs - although we do eat out once a week - our date night 🥰. Public transport is our go-to option right now as it’s super convenient and everything is well connected, plus you can buy a monthly pass which is in-expensive and can be used all around Germany. Health insurance is mandatory and a fixed cost.
We track expenses using apps. This simple approach keeps our finances in check while allowing us to enjoy life in Germany!

Can we find job in Austria by using job seeking visa of portugal or it is hard to get job in Austria without knowing German language
Which job domain are you in? No, you can not use job seeker visa of Portugal to seek job in Austria. You may look at ‘Chancenkarte’ visa of Germany, which is also called the opportunity card and is valid for an year.

Portugal mei skilled logon ke liye job opportunities hain, agar sirf English aati hai tab bhi chances hain Naukri milne ki. However, Portugal ki salaries thoddi kum hoti hain as compared to other European countries like Germany. Un-skilled labour ka humein idea nahi hai.

We would suggest taking job seeker visa of Germany - now called the ‘Chancenkarte’ as it gives you 1 year to look for jobs and also gives you permission to work 20 hours a week part time to support yourself during the job seeking process.

@@LovleenandAsim im coming to Berlin this september for my undergrad being a 19yo not so fluent in german im just confused where to actually start and the exact step by step process as i dont have consultants n stuff from applying for college to visa ive done everything on my on own. so this registration thing and finding a good acomm sounds like quite a task
Hello Sehaj, yes! We can understand, it’s a bit complicated. So, when you come to Germany you need to get yourself registered at the city office - this process is called the ‘Anmeldung’. To get the process started you need to find an accomodation and ask the landlord for A landlord's confirmation of residence called - Wohnungsgeberbestätigung 🤪. Anyway, we will making a video on this to make the process easier for others who are planning to come here.

Hi, aapke question ke liye shukriya! Jo courses aapne mention kiye hain, woh mass media aur communication se related hain, aur Germany mein German primary spoken language hai. Haan, English-speaking roles available hain, lekin communication-related jobs ke liye German language aana bohot zaroori hai aur aapke chances bohot improve ho jayenge agar aap German seekh lete hain.
Hum recommend karte hain ki aap German language ko at least B1 ya B2 level tak seekhein, kyunki iss se aapko job milna easier ho jayega aur industry mein kaam karna bhi convenient hoga.
Agar aap master’s plan kar rahe hain, toh aise programs dekhein jo internships ya industry exposure dete hain, kyunki yeh aapki job secure karne mein help karte hain. Best of luck for your plans! Agar aur questions hain toh zaroor poochhein.

Hi Komal,
Yes, it’s possible, but you will need to secure a job in Germany first. Once you have a job, you’ll be eligible for a Blue Card, which allows your spouse and family to join you in Germany.
Alternatively, if you wish to come to Germany to look for jobs, you’ll need to apply for a Chancenkarte (Opportunity Card) visa. Please note that both you and your spouse will need to apply for this visa separately.

The Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) is a new program in Germany aimed at attracting skilled workers based on a points system (like education, work experience, age, and language skills). It allows you to come to Germany and look for work for up to 1 year, provided you meet the criteria. Plus, it also allows you to work part time for 20 hours a week to support your stay in Germany until you land a full time job.
The Job-Seeking Visa, on the other hand, is not available as it was replaced by the Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) in June 2024.
One important step is to evaluate your education qualifications through the Anabin portal (anabin.kmk.org). This tool helps confirm whether your degree is recognized in Germany, which is crucial for your application. If your degree and college doesn’t show up on the Anabin portal then there’s a different route.
