I'll say this much I attended a very political high school in Cape Town called Spes Bona it use to be an all boys school at the time .But one thing it has taught me was that change is slow .So when South African came out of isolation and we won our first RWC .It was a thing of beauty seeing all of South African united .The amount of pride I felt being a South African you just need to sit back and truly look around you when the springboks play look at the crowd not only at the stadium but even out there in homes watching all around the world .And when the game is done we all leave go back to doing what we do .But for that moment our troubles disappeared and unity took over .Thank you to all South Africans wanting to make our country beautiful. @@Wolfie880 interesting story sir. I'm also from Cape Town, also from the Cape Flats. Do you find that there are Maori and New Zealand natives who also support the Springboks in a similar way?
Us Springok fans keep saying we respect the ABs, and I believe it. But if we truly respect the ABs, we should respect our own people who support the ABs, for whatever their personal reason. Rugby isn't a game to cause divisions!
They used rugby to divide themselves, almost like a supporters apartheid from their own country. Its just a strange thing but people can support who ever they want, it makes no difference to the game, which its all about. The rest are just side shows. Well said Rassie🙏
These AB's supporters are fast becoming irrelevant, their cause no longer exists! Springboks have never been this diverse, perfect example of our rainbow nation. From a Cape Townian - proudly green & gold.
As a black man growing up in the 80s i remember my dad supporting the All Blacks who always voiced in support of oppressed blacks and coloured people in SA everytime they graced the field. They even campaigned against oppression when they played in Twickenham for over 10 years in a row. God bless the All Blacks.
It means alot to a nzer to see those fans, in the same way it would have meant a lot to the people of south africa when nzers protested aparteid 30-40 years ago, by not letting the all blacks get to the stadium.
@@ho6277 Image talking BS like you are doing. Inferior Victim Mentality in a country where they have hundreds of Race laws after 30 years against a minority.
I don't care what the historical reasons...I support OUR country OUR boys - I never supported the Boks in the apartheid years but I certainly never supported AGAINST my countrymen. I love it that the Boks are multi cultural, they are clear beacon of how we as a country should be. Supportive of each other and devoted to excellence! Those poor Cape Crusaders are missing out on this magical moment in our sporting history, they are confused, lost souls stuck in the past !
@KamogeloRakgalakane there is zero reason you can give to me that justifies supporting the ABs above your countrymen today. It's nothing short of treason.

I cant remeber where I heard it, but heard a Comment about saffas and the bokke. The guy said " Isnt it beautifull, that every saturday the boks play, that for 80 minutes south africans forget about everything, and for 80 minutes the entire country remebers how much they love themselves". Mean as a foreigner in my country we dont unite around a team like you do around the bokke and its beautifull.
I have a lomg-time colleague in my office who loves the All Blacks. After many years we now enjoy the rivalry - it's great fun. His wife and children support the Boks but he will always love the All Blacks - who arent all black by the way :) He enjoyed the good times many tears ago , so we are generous towards each other - I tell him the tide is turning . Come on Bokke. 4 in a row !. Remember 57 zulch- The time is here now.
I am a South African and a proud AB supporter. The Boks are obviously a very good team and i respect that, what i however dislike is the " quotas" system. ABs vs Boks is the biggest and best rivalry in the world.
To each his own. There are far more important issues that deserve our attention than trying to convince someone to change their choice. Like Rassie said, let them be as there will always be someone who does not support the team that we do. I can however say that I have witnessed probably the biggest swing of support among our fellow Black South Africans from the time we won our first World Cup in 1995 with Madiba to the present. It is one of the most gratifying and heartfelt emotions to see South Africans of all colours, all walks of life really supporting the guys. The Springboks are a microcosm of SA society, and everyone can feel welcome and feel represented. Proudly South African ! 🇿🇦
Can I ask how many of us support Bafana Bafana, most of us do not even watch their games and support English Clubs. I have no problem with anyone that supports the AB's, i do not fully understand it and feel sad for these people as they do not know what it feels like to be part of this green machine that is unifying SA and the joy to watch them as our team. Looking forward to Saturday and pray for dry conditions.
To be honest, most people the world over, love excellence in spite of everything else. The Bokke are number one in the world and they are acting & playing like winners. And that simply put is why SAfricans love them more. That said, there was a time before the World Cup 2010 when love for Bafana Bafana was growing but due to their lacklustre performances thereafter support for them waned and also, honestly, its because their team is not as representative, racially, as the Bokke have become. Yes, and racial quotas should never be a yardstick, but one wonders what has happened to all the great players from the other racial groupings.
look up your history, you almost got it right, the abs and the nz fans refused to play, or let nz play south africa, because of aparteid because of mandella. We stood at the park and refused to let them play in protest. I think this is why they support the all blacks.
Regardless of the history, the All Blacks TODAY play for their OWN people in New Zealand. They don't care about South Africans. The Springboks play for South Africans. They go out there and they bleed to inspire unity and hope. Of course people are free to chose who they support. But these are the facts.
Seriouslydave@@Seriouslydaveyou think to much&its not what you think cause dit gani ha oor ni"if you know the difference between quality and quantity then you will understand why we as New Zealand supporters chose to support that them nothing about apartheid...
Fun fact: From 1899-1902 New Zealand troops helped the British put Black South Africans into concentration camps where more than 20,000 died. Apartheid officially started in 1948, that means that a black person could have lived to be in the concentration camps and apartheid. All Nations have past sins but what matters is that we stand united now.
I dont think the modern day All Blacks would say they represent concentration camps & the Boer War era as NZ was very different then and had their own racial issues
@@sifisomavimbela8838 yep, the Maoris as a society are extremely disadvantaged to this day. Highest unemployment and alcohol abuse incidence. Well said Rassie, I don’t begrudge the boks’ success as a kalit All blacks supporter. I just can’t change after being a fan since the mid late 90s as a teenager seeing Lomu play… it was only Chester Williams at that time that was of colour, I had some much love for guys like the old Mannetjies Roux,Danie Gerber, James small,Joost, Jaapie, Os, Kobus… Joel, Mark… these Guys were my heroes growing up, but the Blacks had my heart. I used to watch Kitch Christie on the morning tv doing the gardening show and was in awe of he’s coaching style.. there’s only love for the boks especially in recent years, but Jisie man, a kalit blacks supporter is a kalit blacks supporter!! Rugby wins always !
I never understood this thing before, but now after watching this video I see that we need to allow each their own choice and journey. Cheers to you from a pale-skinned Bok supporter and fellow South African
This is an inspiring way to look at the "Cape Crusaders". Respecting people instead of pulling them down. I see it differently now. The Boks keep evolving with Mandela's legacy and it makes me very proud
When SA play any other nation but the AB's do they watch as a neutral or support any team opposing SA. Do they ever support SA or under no circumstances. Just trying to understand the mentallity. Those that dont forgive burns the bridge over which they themselves must pass. Its not healthy keeping grudges...let go and grow🙏
It is unique to the All Blacks who had to sleep in non white areas because they had Marois and so they were adopted by those coloured communities. The truth will set you free
When I talk with former rugby players the feeling is that we haven't yet moved away from our past they feel there is an element attached to the past.. I'm trying to be diplomatic 😊. However they feel Rassie is honestly making a difference.. that's a positive.. As for the general public it's going to take time to win them over it runs deeper than what we think. Kodos to Rassie for trying and hopefully he gets it right however I hope he sees it to the end.
Rassie has done wonders. With the combined efforts of so many people. There will always be All Black supporters in the wes Kaap so people should just suck it up. Wee Pee
I grew up around many All Black supporters. One of my best friends is an AB, and one of the saddest moments I have in rugby is when SA won the WC in 2007 and everyone everywhere was celebrating in the streets and my best buddy was just sitting there dikbek. It really made me feel sad that he couldn't be a part of the celebrations, it just felt wrong.
Only strange thing is they are not supporting Moodie, Mannie, KLA, Williamses etc. all players who've come from their own communities. While Fassi, Kolisi are from neighboring EP
To the AB's fans in SA, we have your backs, its the same reason we refused to play, and we protested our OWN players in the 1980's and 1990's. Nz has been part of the black lives matter movement for decades. The All blacks love all of their fans and all fans of rugby everywhere. Nz stands for whats right everytime no matter what party leads. And at the end of the day it doesnt matter who wins we all come together for a cause we are all humans lets just celebrate.
Im from WP and I remember the Cape Crusaders at newlands I actually loved that the visiting NZ teams got a lot of support to made it feel more special won stormers would win. I support the green and gold thou
I do have some affection for the all blacks BUT SPRINGBOKS comes first, Springboks is everything, love the BOKS MORE...mad love for RASSIE, what a man!!!!!
We can over- analyze this phenomenon as much as we want to, the truth remains that the Springboks have done more than enough for the coloured community where I simply cannot see a reason to continue supporting the ABs. Not only is the team stacked with coloured superstars, we just had our first coloured Captain in Moeraat. Chester Williams, Breyten Paulse, Habana etc. Coloured players made themselves undeniable, we have our own heroes now.
The reason SA is succeeding as a 4x RWC winner, is , at last , the country comes first for the players ( for the other countries?= " the jersey"?- it does not mean as much as it does to SA players ) Secondly, the huge pool of rugby talent & the actual current quality of players - and the obvious VISIBLE success of the players, but who ALL reflect that country first culture regardless. Its a journey. SA football and cricket...there is a model to follow here. Rugby is a brother/ sisterhood. Its unique, the culture is " we are proud of our team and our team supports us.players" Football? No. A different culture and no or little values espousing " the game is greater than us".
If you understood that its because of the All Blacks that the protests against apartheid started around the world... that the All Blacks gave South Africa the first vision of the Rainbow Nation... research " No Mauri, No Tour" and you'll get it. ❤ I love the Boks, but there would be no Boks (in the modern sense) without Aotearoa.
Hopefully All Blacks back for a proper tour in 2026!!! According to the report by the Daily Maverick, the tour in 2026 will consist of four matches against the URC clubs, a fixture against South Africa ‘A’ and three official Test matches against the Springboks.
I support the All Blacks for 60 years now. Will support the Springboks when so called Blacks and so called Coloureds can be head coach as well. Look what they did to Pieter de Villiers and Allister Coetzee? We must look at all facets of the Springboks and so called non racialism in sport
My 2 cents - because we've always had brilliant coloured players, and a LOT of them, but it's taken a bit longer to get traditional black communities into rugby
Ask all these boks supporters why they dont support bafana go on il wait . We can support anyone we want its not about apartheid or ehatever i wasnt born in apartheid so i could careless about why others support or dont support the Abs or boks this isnt as deep as people always wanna make it out to be
Didn't expect that from cape town hahaha love the all blacks to much and they feel home here... I think that's why some reason the bokke never play all blacks here in Cape town due to the support and making all blacks feel home and love here.
Just a question. Do these guys dis our national anthem? If not, no problem. In fact even if they do, the freedom we won to celebrate our homegrown heroes is also your freedom to be a jerk.
I'm a South African but a proud New Zealand support&will never change cause what you see in south African rugby I see in New Zealand Rugby 4eve black💯🫷🤘
30 years is nothing compared to 100 years of Brutality. I support the Boks cause it's a new world today but let's not forget the past! South African Rugby Board (SARB) was established in 1889 as the governing body for rugby in South Africa, representing white players and administrators. Under apartheid, SARB strictly enforced racial segregation in rugby, maintaining separate competitions, leagues, and clubs for white players. - **Control Over National Teams**:SARB had exclusive control over the selection of the South African national rugby team, the **Springboks**. The Board only selected white players for the Springboks for most of its history, adhering to apartheid's policies of racial exclusion. For over a century, SARB operated under policies that enforced racial segregation in rugby. This meant that only white players could participate in competitions organized under SARB. Support for the All Blacks fully understandable. Maoris were not even allowed to enter South africa. That's crazy. So I can understand ! It's like the Irish who love to see The English suffer.
Imagine having the generosity of heart that Rassie Erasmus has. Mandela had it too. Change may be slow, but it's that kind of generosity of heart that turns tides.

Loving the springboks is an understatement i love them with a passion, our blood is green with a touch of gold 🇿🇦💯😜
All Blacks for life... I've supported the All Blacks since I was in grade 3...didnt even know what Apartheid was at that time...
How many South Africans support Bafana Bafana? But yet I see so many people in SA still supporting Portugal, Spain, Germany, Argentina and nothing is been said about it... To many, many young South Africans Supporting the All Blacks this was never about Apartheid... Just saying it's not always about what happened in the past... It's about supporting the Team you love...
Say what you will... 😊
Maybe because bafana doesn't qualify doesn't qualify for world cups lol .. not the same thing,, loving another team over your own country is just stupid kaap kullids always have been stupid
Bafana is not a winning team like the Boks are. The symbolism of what the Springboks represent is very hard to deny.

I'm a proud coloured South African living in New Zealand for more than twenty years .Before I left for New Zealand I hated the All Blacks because they are just so good .Always winning and also getting the rub of the green most times . Thank you

@@robingeorge7151 that would not happen.
@@MorgMorg-uf6ps not really - the black rugby tradition is old, youd be surprised by actual history versus the mainstream karen crap
Imagine being born and bred in South Africa and being an All Black fan...
My condolences to you and your family.
confused........! and a bit racists. f off to NZ
It means alot to a nzer to see those fans, in the same way it would have meant a lot to the people of south africa when nzers protested aparteid 30-40 years ago, by not letting the all blacks get to the stadium.
Imagine being poor and being a constant victim of racism today on a daily basis, and you must remember, the springbok emblem is a symbol of apartheid.

I'm a springbok fan but you saying you don't care about historical reasons is distasteful do better.
@@KamogeloRakgalakane Agreed, but people know nothing these days - cant even read a book
@KamogeloRakgalakane there is zero reason you can give to me that justifies supporting the ABs above your countrymen today. It's nothing short of treason.
Imagine being a coloured person from CT watching players like Cheslin ,Kurt Lee, Manie, and Damien and still not supporting them…This is not the same Apartheid team we once has…
I cant remeber where I heard it, but heard a Comment about saffas and the bokke.

How I wish people could see this through the pain and eventually arrive at a place of healing.
As a Kiwi, this topic of SA All Blacks supporters always intrigued me, and I've always wondered if there are SA Wallabies supporters as well?
Its to do with apartheid ABs were vocal against it and used to tour around Cape town and stuff
Dream on!!!!
That said, there was a time
before the World Cup 2010 when love for Bafana Bafana was growing but due to
their lacklustre performances thereafter support for them waned and also, honestly,
its because their team is not as representative, racially, as the Bokke have become.
Yes, and racial quotas should never be a yardstick, but one wonders what has happened
to all the great players from the other racial groupings.
South Africans who support the All Blacks, just understand they don't play for you. It's the Springboks who play for you. ☝️🏆🇿🇦
look up your history, you almost got it right, the abs and the nz fans refused to play, or let nz play south africa, because of aparteid because of mandella. We stood at the park and refused to let them play in protest. I think this is why they support the all blacks.
@Seriouslydave facts and we should understand that just like rassie stated
They play for everyone. It takes two to tango

But it's freedom of choice supporting the team you want...
@@Alec-sanderMeirellesDoCantoECajust as South Africa is very different now.

Mandela instantly forgave them, and supported the Boks
When I talk with former rugby players the feeling is that we haven't yet moved away from our past they feel there is an element attached to the past.. I'm trying to be diplomatic 😊. However they feel Rassie is honestly making a difference.. that's a positive.. As for the general public it's going to take time to win them over it runs deeper than what we think. Kodos to Rassie for trying and hopefully he gets it right however I hope he sees it to the end.
Rassie has done wonders. With the combined efforts of so many people. There will always be All Black supporters in the wes Kaap so people should just suck it up. Wee Pee
The difference between the All Blacks & the Springboks is the issue of respect..............
No one's upset Rassie, it's great to know there are dinosaurs still living in the Cape. Only place in the world.
Pimpie the absolute rugby story, makes rsa proud time and again, goodluck congtrats.

We are the world ❤😊
Rassie definitely trying to win them over, you can see it within the team❤
It's called freedom of choice 😊 same goes for the soccer! I am a bok fan but respect my friends supporting NZ. How many south africans support bafana?
We can over- analyze this phenomenon as much as we want to, the truth remains that the Springboks have done more than enough for the coloured community where I simply cannot see a reason to continue supporting the ABs. Not only is the team stacked with coloured superstars, we just had our first coloured Captain in Moeraat. Chester Williams, Breyten Paulse, Habana etc. Coloured players made themselves undeniable, we have our own heroes now.
Im a all black and i dont care what others think of me

The reason SA is succeeding as a 4x RWC winner, is , at last , the country comes first for the players ( for the other countries?= " the jersey"?- it does not mean as much as it does to SA players ) Secondly, the huge pool of rugby talent & the actual current quality of players - and the obvious VISIBLE success of the players, but who ALL reflect that country first culture regardless. Its a journey. SA football and cricket...there is a model to follow here. Rugby is a brother/ sisterhood. Its unique, the culture is " we are proud of our team and our team supports us.players"
Football?
THE SPRINGBOKS ARE THE BEST RUGBY TEAM IN THE WORD, SO THEY NEED THE BIGGEST RUGBY UA-cam CHANNEL IN THE WORLD!
Let's hope this won't be the last all blacks game VS bokke here or any other team...
Hopefully All Blacks back for a proper tour in 2026!!! According to the report by the Daily Maverick, the tour in 2026 will consist of four matches against the URC clubs, a fixture against South Africa ‘A’ and three official Test matches against the Springboks.
The Boks today are the current, future,if they lived in the past we wouldn't be number one
