I've listened to lots of singers who are great legends, but the unfortunate thing is many of them don't give much importance to the lyrics. Sandhi viccheda is something that no one cares about. Fore example, Vathapi Ganapathim Bhaje Ham (Makes no sense) - bhaje-aham could be made still maintaining the musical beauty. Also, Vaaranaasyam becomes mangled into Varanaa Syam! These Krithis were made by the great Muthuswami Dikshitar who wasn't just a musician but a Srividya Upasaka. He packed the power of difficult mantras that can chanted only after diksha from guru and with great rules, into simple words in his songs, but we don't seem to make good use of it. Singing (while pronouncing the words properly) would give us the same fruition of worshipping the deity with his or her moola mantra. My request to everyone is to put some effort into knowing the correct lyrics before publishing.
