  • After wearing and trying more than 100 hats, I finally found the cap that solves all of my (hat-related) problems… but it cost me… a lot, so in this video, I want to share why this $7,000 hat is worth every penny.

My number one interest is making sure that it is a large enough hat to fit my Charlie Brown sized head. We’re talking 7 7/8 or size 8. If that happens, you have this person as a customer! I wear hats all the time as long as they fit and that is the rub.

How much has the wire brim been tested? Also, looks like you’d need to adjust the curve of the wired brim version each time you take it out of your bag since it looks soft enough to smoosh into a bag in the first place.

As someone who is nearly 2 meters tall and has lived in east and southeast Asia for 35 years, finding hats which fit has been as big a challenge as finding large sized shoes. Personally, I stay away from moto taxis. Taking a tuktuk is not much more expensive and makes it easier to carry a bag. All the shots in the video were using Grab. We have Grab in Cambodia as well as Passapp and several others. Unlike Thailand and Indonesia we don't have many moto taxis. And for this I am grateful. Wearing someone else's helmet is... gross. And most helmets are designed for much smaller heads than mine. I am certain that I would be unable to wear any of the helmets shown in the video.

I have 1 of my many hats that i always wear for 5 years. An old adidas C40 Climachill Carbon. They're not selling the same version anymore.
    Things I like about it:
    1. Fit. Fits my big head without looking goofy.
    2. Material. Super soft and breathable but very durable fabric (without typical running cap "holes"). It's also pocketable (brim is only the stiff part)
    3. Versatility. Goes on casual to smart casual outfit. Doesnt look like an active wear (subtle logo color only slightly darker than fabric) and doesn't have that "shine" from nylons and polyester.
    4. Handy. Has that thin plastic buckle closure you can easily release so you can hang it EASILY on your bag strap, loops, or rings. (my favorite feature)
    5. Look. It's been with me for 5yrs as a daily beater but the color aged so good. I bought it Carbon colored now it's Dark Ash maybe 1 tone lighter. (doesnt collect and no visible lints!)
I ride mototaxi almost everyday and this is promising.
I'll probably buy your hat but would still wear mine indefinitely!
Maybe on the future iterations, I'll see the qualities of my old one and let it retire.
    Always loved your channel!

The one thing that everybody gets wrong is that somehow the Velcro strip or the Velcro system should be replaceable because eventually Velcro dies, and if you could somehow just replace the whole strip or strap system not just on a hat, but on anything that uses Velcro would be amazing. Obviously it’s not necessarily going to be something you should have to do on everything, but on some things where the Velcro strip gets ruined so fast it would be great. This hat is pretty cool except for some reason I do not like the shape of it and would not wear that thing. If it looked more like a baseball cap and had all the other qualities, I would definitely buy one, but the brim is just too short and it’s not gonna be the style a lot of people want to wear. If I t looks more like a regular baseball hat I will buy it for sure. Not everybody is going to wear their hat under a motorcycle helmet so a larger brim would definitely increase sales if you at least provided another version.

I have my own requirement... I have a BIG dome... and hats that "fit" often don't have the appropriately sized brim, unless it's a wide brim hat, and they often have such a hard, flat brim edge that it pushes into my forehead and causes pain. How does your hat work for larger heads, and how does it look?

The crown is too short and so is the brim. The crown should be in proportion to the length of your face and the brim to the width of your head and shoulders. As a helmet liner it’s great. Otherwise you have to be small to pull off a hat that looks like it’s the youth uniform of a fascist regime or Cub Scouts.
