One of the best covers ever... I love SRB (and Fred clearly loved this song) but that version lacks the weight and glorious freakout vibe this has, a Stones garage standard transformed into pure Detroit muscle
This is clearly an MC5 about to fall apart. Davis is gone, Wayne looks so burnt out. But still they deliver an amazing show. The times these guys missed were close to zero
It's certainly not terrible. It's some six years on from their debut; bands evolve and develop, and not necessarily just mimicking their past. Studio conditions and atmosphere etc all play a part too - there's no audience here to respond to.
@ I don’t have an aesthetic complaint. It’s musical, maybe most can’t tell a difference but as a musician I can hear a severe difference in quality. Rob still sings great but as a band they are in shambles. The intensity, focus, inspiration, and tightness isn’t there. Wayne pointlessly goes up the fret for that flourish , the drumming is in poor taste, etc. MC5 at their peak was the best live rock band I ever heard . This isn’t that.
I love how Wayne giggles to himself when the camera man comes close enough to see his nose hair
This is the best version on the site for this song! Thank you
Thanks! It didn't need much effort to sync it to our CD soundtrack and tweak the contrast etc so it wasn't ultra-grey.

Yes!
The anniversary of the recording of the greatest live album is soon upon us. #Zenta
Maravilha!
Getting close to the end. Wayne's looking burnt.
He’s got that Johnny Thunders “look”.
This is terrible. How sad. They were so great. No wonder rob left.
