This is the story in which Watson's wife refers to him as "James". People who delve into these stories ( i.e. The Baker Street Irregulars) try to reconcile such seeming discrepancies. The Holmes stories are not called "The Canon" for nothing. The explanation that I read somewhere is is that since Dr. Watson's name is John H. Watson, his middle name must be "Hamish", which, of course is Celtic for James. Thank you for this excellent reading.

Hullo, member of the Illustrious Clients here (scion society in the Midwest). I actually think this is a good explanation to consider. Besides Conan Doyle frankly not giving a damn about his Holmes stories (I personally think he forgot what called Watson for a bit), those who play The Game (taking the view Holmes was a historic figure) like to find these inconsistencies and think of what they mean.

As with tinnin fran, I am old with failing eyesight, and Greg Wagland is my favourite Reader. At 73 I spend my 'golden years' as a shut-in looking at my worthless bookshelves yet gladly have a blessing of great British ghost stories and Sherlock Holmes books, I much rather hear books than Hollywood movies, or even English movies of Sherlock, I have the ability to in my Mind see and follow the Books in my personal 'Picture Show of my Mind." I see the fields and streams in full colour, and henceforth I despised Television since 1963 when as a child of 13 watching TV I seen my Hero, John F. Kennedy murdered. I was traumatized and became a Radio Amateur Operator, and I still am, licensed by FCC as a Technician Class 'Ham" operator. My senior housing will not allow Antennas however I can 'listen VIA A WebSDR which is a Software-Defined Radio receiver connected to the internet. I often listen to Famous Ham Radio Operators - Oxley Region Amateur Radio Club

I had a friend in the Navy who's daughter paid for her PhD by panhandling for a year outside casinos on the Las Vegas strip. She went into social services, having a unique perspective in homelessness, and used her experience for her thesis. In the age of social media starlets wanting some sort of patronage for talking on the internet, Victorian-ers begging scams seem both utilitarian, useful, and of impressive durability. Doyle was nothing if not extremely insightful into human nature.

Good evening everyone, some months ago, I wrote a comment asking help to find a story, I got some answers but no one can identify it, so I decided to listen to all the stories in order to find it. Here I am, 6 months later and I did not find it!!! I am truly starting to think that I dream this and it doesnt actually exist!!! It starts describing a very cold and foggy day, sherlock its at the basement making a lot of noise and watson is reading something, then at dinner sherlock tells watson something about a very important experiment (something about bullets being fired, i think) and tells him that if he wants to know about this he must promise to stay at home and not talk to anyone, watson accepts this and sherlock goes back to the basement; then in the middle of the nigth a friend of watson arrives at the house and ask him to receive him. Thats the part where I always felt asleep. If anyone can help me with this I will be forever grateful!!! I am sure that im not creative enough to dream the story by myself but I listened to all the stories here, even the pastiches and I CAN NOT FOUND IT, maybe I dont remember correctly or I dont know... help please!!

In A Scandal in Bohemia he seems to refer to mrs. Hudson as mrs. Turner.
