- a huge fires, or better.. a series of fires have put in serious danger the city of l'Aquila in Italy for 8 days, SEVEN italian Vigili del fuoco Candair CL-415 super scooper based in Rome Ciampino have fighted for 8 days to extinguish the fire! without forgotting the 2 huge Sikorsky S-64 helicopters! recorded these video on August 2 and 3 2020.

These flight crews really are some of the bravest human beings out there. My absolute respect
All these pilots and support personnel deserve major respect!
The courage around those power lines just so badass these men and women are! I like how you can see the adjustments to flight has the weight of the water comes on and the release of air in the container very cool!
Andrew... : I did fly a single engine Cherokee and I marvel at how they cope with shedding so much weight so quickly. Chopper pilots too.
Nothing makes the inner child in any adult to see a Canadair CL-415, or any Canadair aircraft in action. Like how amazing are these aircraft, being able to perform such maneuvers so close to the ground, fighting the biggest fires, and looking so dam good while doing it, and being extremely efficient at its job by landing on water near the fire, dropping a load every 8 or more minutes depending on how far away the nearest water source is capable of scooping up water in.
The newer CL-515 is capable of doing even more, both at firefighting (with larger tanks and modern flight systems) and outside of firefighting, like search and rescue with radar systems, with emergency passenger space, including multiple stretcher bunks in case of serious injuries.
Chopnhon
Yeah, that is what airplanes do. Flying low is even easier, you simply got more air pressure, more air in a cubic inch, and air is sucking those wings into the sky. Problem flying low is all these bloody obstacles. Trees, houses, hills, mountains, even the ground and rocks are no good.
And those pilots make a plan, and fly from lake to fire, and again and again. They don't want no surprises, lots of wind causes turbulence, that's just one of the nasty things that could happen. Pilots doing such operations must be sharp. It's smart men (or women), focussed, extremely organized. And confident, but not over confident, for that is a dangerous attitude. The best pilots are humble, saying things like, well, that was difficult, but we have dropped the water in exactly the right spot and that family has escaped the fire. That's great.
Beautifully filmed love the Canadair 🙌

Impressive compilation Marco, thanks for sharing! :)
Thanks a lot mylos!! Really appreciate, ciao 😉👍
Ottimo come sempre!
Thanks for this video, and thanks for no music!
Nothing my friend, I also hate music on planes video 😁 ciao 👋👍
Yes, either engine noise OR music. Or you can make it as elegant as this friend! ua-cam.com/video/0TV2l6TOuGA/v-deo.html
Go to 1:40.
Grazie for the outstanding video!
Nobody likes music interrupting the sound of the beautiful engines
Arschlochwinkel?😂
Epic video. Also that Firefighting S-64 Skycrane is one hell of a heli.
Thanks Edo!! 👍 yes that S64 is awesome... but with Corpo Forestale old livery (green) is much much better... it's epic, ciao!! 😉

...but not visible on fires and not very safe.
Bel invention canadienne.
Awesome to watch . 31,11,12, consistent step landings . My Father was a test pilot at Canadair late 60's CL 215 . Thank you .
Really thanks friend 👍👍👋 greetings from Italy
My dad was a supervisor at the plant back in '67, very cool plane to watch.
Those three crews are so consistent with their approach and step landings - it's wonderful to watch them at work. I worked as ground crew for CL-215's operating in northern Alberta and central B.C. and I can't help admiring these flyers, hard at work over in less-than-ideal conditions. Rugged, no-nonsense, efficient aircraft that take skill and teamwork to fly. God bless them all.
Now I know that I have seen angels.

Bellissimo video. Sei un grande :-) :-) :-)
We have a fleet of these fantastic planes and helicopters pay us a visit for our Southern Hemisphere summer, down under. We are so grateful to see them and their courageous crews who make an enormous contribution to our safety. Our heart-felt gratitude to all of the crews and service engineers and support staff 😃👌👌❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nice video my friend!
Great to see the aircraft working thank you for the video thumbs up and shared.
*Thanks for sharing!!!*
Great stuff!!
Incredibile 7 canadair più elicotteri...
Quite a spectacle to see these flying together in the scenic mountains..
🙂🙂🙂
Just to make a small correction the S64F were two, the first one to arrive on scene was not from LIRA (Ciampino) but it was repositioned from Reggio Calabria for the occasion and was not flown by the Vigili del Fuoco (VV.F.) but it was operated by the European Air Crane crews who fly most of the fleet.
The one from Ciampino came later that day and went back and forth from l'Aquila, Pescara and back to Ciampino at night while the other one stayed overnight in Pescara.
It was stationed in Pescara because l'Aquila Aeroporto dei Parchi at the time was not equipped with enough fuel for the Sky Crane which needs around 5000Litres every two hours of flight, considering that they flew around six hours per day just do the math.
When the fire was over it went back to Reggio Calabria were it stayed during the summer for anothert wo years before moving to Scalea and the next year to Pontecagnano.
Hope this clarification helped to see things more clearly.
Wow, a 7 Canadair bucket brigade! That's the way to put out a fire.
Bravo, bravo, bravo e bravo! Contenuto magnifico e bellissime riprese
Awesome video🙏🙏🙏
Excellent video.
great film very interesting thanks
Made in Canada 🇨🇦
alll of tfolks in those firefighting planes and choppers are soooooo Badass!! Bless all pilots and support folks!!
Great camera work!
Felicidades.
We really need more Canadair CL-415 in the air.
Come sempre video di ottima qualità! Grande stima Marco!
Best water bombers in the world, period.
power... : For terrain where it is suitable it does a good job.
Ok on well 2
I do love seeing the Mars Bomber growing up. NOTHING i have seen compares.
Some of the best video I've ever seen. Very Very good ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🇺🇲
Thanks a lot mate!! 💪😊👍
Nothing beats the CL. 415 fighting fire.
Its not a 415. converted 215. only has two dump doors. 215. 415. has 4. 415 215. 2 different aircraft
Hey loved the vid 🤟make sure to look forward to my new plane vid to Seattle tomorrow ! Thank u so much!! ♥️
Amazing
these pilots are skilled af
the best video for fire ....congats
Just learned the Canadian's created this airplane. One more reason to love that "peace loving country". They build water bombers, not combat bombers.
DeHavilland Canada is setting up to build brand new aircraft in Calgary, Alberta (they model has been out of production since about 2015). They have orders and are setting up shop, I've been in the plant as a service contractor. Last I read there are orders for 22 aircraft, possibly even more by now. They have a separate facility that's been rebuilding & upgrading existing airframes.
Rough calculation, at 20 km travel, 7 CL415s could dump something like 680,000 L of water per hour on the fire.
Real Heros at Work!! God bless them!!!
Guatemala necesita de estos!
bravo
love the bombardier airtankers, we have 4 cl215t based at our airport every summer..
Great.. nice the CL-215T I never seen It.. where is your airport? 👍
@@marcoGismondi93 the cl215t is identical to the 415, my airport is in central Alberta Canada (CYZH).
@@marcoGismondi93 Also the newest version of the 415, the 515 is going to be built in calgary alberta..
@@anthonycyr9657 👍 the only differences are the 215T has 2 water doors instead of 4 but bigger, the avionics inside the 215T Is less than 415 😉
Magnifique bonne continuation bravo 🇨🇭😎👏👍
These power lines are really the nightmare of these kind of ops.
Absolutely yes.. unfortunately 15 years ago one of our cl-415 crashed after the collision wirh a power line 😔
😍ala rotante 😍S-64
MUITO LINDO ❤
It's hard to believe that any body can take an airplane and skim the lake and draw water in and not loose the balance it takes to top off and keep on kippen on 👍🦆😎
A flying bucket brigade. The right tool for the job.
Hello folk's good morning I remember PilOting one of those in 2009 or in 2010 doing the same dropping water to a big fire see I was getting back to the US from one of the tour's I did to Iraq
GOD BLESS folk's 👍
i think these pilots are pretty well trained for emergancy water landing
It's true! I work as maintenance technician on Italian Canadair cl-415 fleet, and I know very well each our pilot.. they are very very well trained 👍
"THE FIRE ANGELS"..
How many gallons does the plane pick up when it’s fully loaded. ?
The plane can loads a maximum of 13.500 lbs of water in just 13 seconds 👍
But I love the video
Wow 👍👌💐

Those pilots are smoky.
Oy my good sake
Well its not a 415, its a converted 215. 215 has 2 dump doorr's 215. 415 has 4, 415.
Italian's Canadair fleet is a complete 415 fleet, we do not have 215T 👍
