  • This Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 3010 temp light would flash almost immediately on start up. I'm not an electronics tech or projector tech but I love to play with the stuff and I love fixing problems. I tell people if it's already broke I can't break it so let me see what I can do.

Very helpful video. I have a slightly different problem. The projector runs fine for 20-30 minutes and then the picture disappears and a blue light flickers. The status light flashes blue and projector light flashes orange. I noticed that the lamp is quite hot and fan is constant and its blasting. Wondering if the exhaust fan is bad or any of the sensors are bad. Appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks!

Hey sir I have the same exact projector I’ve gone through the same process and had ordered two new fans. I have a big problem I need your help with. The two larger fans that are deep in the guts of this thing appeared to be wired identically to the other three in the unit when I applied voltage to the three smaller fans they spun up totally fine. Applying 12 V to the two larger fans I got no spin and presume they were bad. I’ve just received two new fans and bench tested them and cannot get them to spin up either and I am questioning the proper way to test these larger fans even though they appear identical in wiring and design is the smaller ones in the unit. It’s hard for me to believe that they just sent me to bad fans. They are new but I cannot get them to spin up and I’m starting to question whether there’s anything actually wrong with the two that I tested and thought I found the problem. Please confirm back how are you tested those two larger fans inside the unit. Was it just a matter of applying 12 V and ground or did the other two conductors have to be monkey worth in someway?

They do require being wired up differently but unfortunately it was quite a few years ago that I messed with this and can’t remember how I did it. I do remember having to UA-cam how to get them to spin up so there is information out there about it.

Is it still running after replaced those fans? have you figured out the root cause for three fans?

It still runs. They had a movie night outside on a humid summer night. When finished, they cut it off and took it inside and it didn’t work anymore. I think moisture caused the issue from where it was outside and hot, then they took it into a cool house.

@@troach316 I took the power supplier fan apart, and the same chip burnt shown at 12:18.
