Jarrett, I was down at Comerica Park yesterday for opening day of my Detroit Tiger ball team. I went down the day before to visit and tour Jacks TMR facility in the Cass Corridor of Detroit. BLEW MY MIND!!! What a great dude! Mad Props to Mr. White for preserving the pure anolog sound of his pressings! Great Video! Come check out Third Man in Detroit!
Jack White's message will be heard. Those major labels won't want to miss out on the money. Vinyl is big business again. What I love about vinyl manufacturing is that it's not wasteful industry. Once pressed, records are resold over and over.
I hope you are right. I have working turntables and even a working 8track player.
What's less wasteful than bits and bytes?
@@SeekingTheLoveThatGodMeans7648 the plastic to house them which get tossed for constant upgrades and system updates
Jack White doesn’t just talk the talk , he also walks the walk. He leads by example. No one can hold that against him. He’s one of the biggest vinyl advocates ever. Let’s hope the 3 big guys listens.
i totally argree with jack white, they really should make more record plants, its not only good for the artist for their music to be put out quicker and the fans getting the music on vinyl, but i bet it would also make sony music, universal, and warner even more money, sure they would also lose money, but that money could make a huge profit in the long run
I still have my records from when I shopped Sam Goody in the 1970s and Tower Records in the 1980s. I’d like to invest in vinyl pressing. Support small businesses over big names. Totally understand the need for quicker fabrication times.
Thank you for the video!
Still a delay in printing the jackets for the records, so that would have to catch up as well, not just the vinyl plants.
Yep, he said in the interview with Apple yesterday that he wants to work on the jackets soon. Those take up to 10 months!
Your voice is so nice and calming.
love your channel man, keep up the great content
Hes the best
Yep. Get the message out there. That's the spirit mate.
I agree and understand what jack is saying. I preordered albums and those releases have been pushed back from their initial release by a few months! I can’t be mad, I understand that there’s new albums that need to be pressed and old albums that need to be repressed. I hope and wish that the big 3 record labels build new plants to help relieve the load from other pressing plants
Love the hair, honey. And YES. Hes so great. Glad you did this
Veey true, need more supply, I demand it.
Omg Jarrett! Do I see Jose Gonzalez’s Local Valley on your wall there? I had no idea you could get it on vinyl 😍 such a great album I discovered by shazaming one of the songs on my work’s playlist (Swing) 🤣
Jack White is awesome in every way! His interview yesterday with Apple Music gave an awesome tour of the plant and the host/interviewer got to press his own vinyl of the new JW album. He said that they can make about 5k records a day and they still have a 10 month backlog. Hes 100% correct, these record companies need to realize the vinyl resurgence Is like a decade old now, its not just a fad. In fact, it keeps picking up momentum. Problem is costs. Its a MUCH different world now for when they used to make records. These companies are too used to high profits and dirt cheap cost. So unless they can build some plants in China on the cheap, I seriously doubt you are going to see new pressing plants popping up unfortunately.
I listen to 2nd BST and On the Border and One if These Nights Eagles today on the vinyl
More Record Vinyl Plants would be Awesome
When one buys vinyl today for new artists, one buys a bit of nostalgia. We know yesteryear but today and tomorrow so often surprises and shocks without us seeing the resolution of these things yet. So we associate the old things with a comfort greater than what we actually experienced.
To me, bits and bytes have conquered the music listening experience. Instead of spinning a platter, I'll watch the waveform on my computer, cranking out fidelity that would make yesteryear envy and impossible to mar the recording thereby. This is my moment in suspended time.
So cool great video 👍
Yes,I want more vinyls
Damn. Wish I had the money to start a vinyl plant of my own. There are tons of huge buildings in my state and big malls that are shut down for good. That would make a great starting point. Just need the pressing equipment and materials. 🤔
I like everything Jack White has done, but thinking major record labels care about vinyl is optimistic at best.
One thing that needs to be addressed and hopefully some people from the Apollo plant are still around. Is the need to make new lacquers, DMM can only go so far.
Delays are the biggest issue we face these days. Deadlines are hard to meet on the release end. I toured TMR and it was a fantastic facility and vibe.
Song of the Day: “Another Day” by This Mortal Coil
Hey, would you make a video on how to keep records safe during hot weather like in summer? Because I heard some people's records melted because it was too hot. Is there a way to avoid that?
I just bought my first vinyl!!!! Limited edition chili peppers emerald green!(:
It’s also my first post on my UA-cam profile! Can’t wait to get a record player and start collecting!!!!!!
Vinyls really deliver novel experience with a true cultural connection to our past. It's cool, and the art is really nice.
Hey man I know you’re a big tool fan as a mile are you going to get the new fear inoculum box it if you are would love To see a review! You know exactly what you’re talking about when it comes to record quality would just love to see your input on this box said thanks man have a good one!
I was thinking the same thing 😆🤘
Lover your channel, but love your hair even more.
Can you do a review of the victrola Eastwood turntable?
What are some good oversized outer sleeves for double/triple/quad LPs? Thanks! The ones I have right now fit double lps with gate fold jackets it’s just a bit tight and I don’t wanna ruin them.
What Records are You Spinning Today? 🤔🎵
just picked up a copy of The Wall by Pink Floyd today, looking forward to spinning it
I'm about to get a copy of Who Do You Think You Are / Come To Paradise by The Fascinators.
Cloakroom - Dissolution Wave
Check this band out they're incredible.
Snoop-doggy style
Play by Dave Grohl. An EP pressed on one side containing one song that's 22 minutes long.
Question for you, I recently got into record collecting and I made a mistake of not doing much research for a record player so my current one is a crosely t150a, should I buy the audio techica 120 asap?
I've got more CD's than Vinyl records, but I love Vinyl! All my Vinyl pre-orders like the New Jack White Record Are delayed. I'd wish someone would supply this demand! The Wizard of Rock'n'Roll is in the right, let's press more Music on Vinyl.
There's plenty of smaller vinyl pressing companies out there right now with short wait times. Usa and EU
I have atleast 3 Jack white vinyls along with 2 white stripes albums.
Song of the day: "Lemon Tree" by Fool's Garden
How about *RCA Records* , *A&M* , and *Capital Records* ? I know there are other record companies besides the ones Vinyl Eyezz talked about and the ones I typed here in my comment. I am not sure if *Buddha Records* still exists, but they were popular along with *Decca Records* back in the 1970's during my childhood. My parents had some music on these labels, in fact; all of these labels I've mentioned here. Oh yeah; how's about *Chrysalis Records* ? I think I have a few albums of singers on that label with a caterpillar on it. I do believe vinyl has never really died out, neither has the availability of various brands of turntables/record players. This is my favorite format of music, there's just something special about dropping the needle into the groove and watching that 12 inch or 45 inch disc revolve as I listen to the awesome music coming from a pair of great speakers. 😎🥰
RCA = Sony; A&M = Universal; Capitol = Universal. The Buddah name is owned by Sony. Decca = Universal. Most labels are owned by the three majors. In 1998, however, there were six: WEA, MCA, BMG, PolyGram, EMI, and Sony. I still wish that Universal was prevented from acquiring and breaking up EMI in 2013. Six majors makes it easier for ALL musicians to release and distribute their music-because using Bandcamp, charging what you want, and doing everything yourself is just too much for an unsigned band. Peace.
Which Is that beautiful green Vinyl? Where can I find It please?
Not to mention higher profits and/or lower MSRP...
Right?
I've seen the most ridiculous things repressed to vinyl by the major labels. Albums that literally fill thrift stores and second hand shops all over the globe get a $40 vinyl "repress". It's ugly. I feel like some quality control at the pressing plants would go a long way.
Jarrett, Does My Vinyl Get Damaged When I play it on a crosley does it get damaged!
this is a random question, i have a friend who has about 2 records and one of those crosley cruisers, they have adamantly refused to change their needle no matter what so guys what should i do ( if i should do anything at all or just let it be) so any ideas guys
It explains why my slipknot self titled lemon LP was delayed
song of the day: Hold On Loosely by 38 Special.
Wait, after all these years, I just noticed that the record at the end of the video is spinning in reverse!
Have you ever done a video about centre hole reamers? I often get records with an imperfect play hole. It doesn't sit onto the player right or just looks unappealing! I purchased a reamer and it is on its way to me but I am cautious to use it because I don't want to do more damage! Do you have one? Are they effective? Is there a way to fix these without buying a reamer? I would love if it you could show a proper demonstration! Thanks
PS Song of the Day: Babylon By Lady Gaga on Chromatica
Vinyl Eyezz watch your vids and watched your hair grow XD and learn allot of about records !
Jack White does understand. Understand that vinyl hasn't been dead since the nineties. I'm moving to Williamsburg Brooklyn in a few weeks and I can't take all of my vinyl records but only two bins worth. Vinyl is still not dead!!!
What’s your opinion on the rega planar 3
The major labels won't do it. Cause they know at some point soon the vinyl bubble will pop again. Its popularity will fall off. They are just cashing in while the market is hot.
Hi bro do you have any elton john records and if you do what records love the video's 👍
And more 45's please
Magical Mystery Tour - The Beatles for song of the day
If Jack sent me the equipment to make records at home, I would do it. I have the space and time lol.
Song of the day - "You Spin Me Right Round (Like a Record)" by Dead Or Alive
We have Nordsø Records which produces vinyl records in Denmark
Song of the day holiday in Cambodia by dead kennedys
A lot of these newer Albums/ artists (like Olivia Rodrigo) have to wait Months before Vinyl can be shipped out
Song Of The Day:
'Fear Inoculum' by Tool
Just wondering if you're gonna do a Tool's 'Fear Inoculum' vinyl album review that's just been released this month, and also Tool's 'Opiate2' Blu Ray and booklet album that's just been released as well?
I remember Lana Del Rey mentioned in a stream that the reason why her albums aren’t coming out as fast is because of the 7-9 month wait of record production. Very interesting
I also think artist should have a limit but have enough for their fans. For example, Adele's recent album 30 has so many vinyl copies. My local Walmart and Target have so many copies, they are even on sale or have them "buy one and get the other half off" (even with a discount).
Yo did vinyl Eyez just confirm that he actually lives in Mansfield, Queensland Australia? Do you actually live down the road from Violent Soho?
I want HIGH QUALITY record pressing plants.
We want more Plants makes this hobby easier and money saving hobby now i got an Encanto Record like i wanted 4 months back and i got it 4 months later Today since the Music is addicting to listen
Jarrett present 'The Gun Club!'
Song of the day: Gloire Eternelle by First Fragment
Jack White could use a JACK TAN. :)
He's right though that the Big Three music labels need to build more vinyl pressing plants to accommodate demand which could also contribute to lowering retail prices to attract more fledgling record collectors.
cool song - cool artist
Can You Feel My Purity? - Shock Therapy (RIP itchy)
Over and Over and Over - Jack White
Song of the day: Evil Side by The Dirty Nil
Building more pressing plants does a few good things. 1) New pressing plants will produce music on vinyl records. 2) New pressing plants will create both part time and full time jobs. 3) New pressing plants will generate income for the big 3 companies, as well as generate income for the artists. And, 4) will create better quality reissues.
5) Listen to what Jack White has to say on the subject.
You know here in India, the records were being pressed in two cities Kolkata and Mumbai. The major record labels here in India were HMV, EMI, Odeon, Angel, Polydor and T Series. However, both the plants have been shut down since ages. Nowadays HMV did release some latest Vinyl Records but honestly they lack the depth, bass, sound and clarity which the old ones have. Record collection has literally sky rocketed in India where we mainly get the record imported from outside however for the regional language records, the future still looks bleak.
I bet if those companies started pressing vinyl records they would cut corners as much as possible and make it cheap.
I have just started to build a record plant because someone has just hypnotised me!?!? :D + A few weeks back Soft Cell & the Pet Shop Boys bought out a single & they said the 12" was coming out in November tho? So now I know why :( I hope the 3 big players do it but for some reason I can't see it really. I don't know why :( Saying that SONY did bring out a new Record player a few years back so maybe they will 👍
Congratulation to JACK WHITE and OLIVIA JEAN for getting married yesterday!
This happened like three weeks ago?
Song of the day “let ‘em cry” Red Hot Chili Peppers
Green Onions by Booker T and the M.G's
I loved the white stripes, but they started diminishing in quality when he divorced his sister
Idk if record companies would ever do this
Unfortunately, records today, are manufactured and sold for a totally different reason than they were back in the 60's and 70's.
Why would the record labels want to create more plants when that will cause them to pay people money, greedy corporations would rather slow down plants than to give people jobs and pay them reasonable wages to release music for their major artists.
Jack Whites message is a call to arms.
The three big boys he called out to help should see the writing on the wall, you know...
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Shape of my hart sting
Jack White is like the Elon Musk for vinyl.
Why are you insulting Jack??
Isn't that the white blood cells guy
I hope it will help, but I fear the big 3 do not believe the vinyl phase will continue. Is it just a new fad, fascination with something retro ? I have to admit ,just 10 years ago I would have told you I would never buy
They will build plants that makes records spinning the other way with their own branded recordplayers that has rfid chip readers to only allow you to play their records that you pay monthly for... Then wonder why records doesn't sell well enough...
Capitol Records and Columbia Records can reopen their closed plants easy fix
Song of the day suggestion: “I’m a Believer” by Giant
Fo real? Last time he was relevant was like... An entire decade ago or more? I'm very intrigued, now.
Why does he have to be relevant? He is in the record manufacturing business now. You don't need fame for that.
Well, sorry, Jack White, but as long as pressing plants around the globe happily accept the premiums they can cash in for favouring and fast-tracking the releases of major labels, those labels have no reason to invest millions in pressing plants, so they won't. What really would help is if people wouldn't jump on the special edition glow-in-the-dark represses of Dire Straits, Michael Jackson and Beatles albums on record store day and bought the used one dollar copies from their local goodwill or flea market instead. What no one buys will not be pressed and hence not block pressing plants.
second is the best
I can’t take anyone with blue hair seriously.
Jack White made a new album and some bad hair.
That isn't going to happen.
first
You are indeed first. here ya go 👉 🏆
@@vinyleyezz I am onerd! Best wishes from Germany
Jack White is a cool guy and has excellent taste, but I don’t like his own music. Third Man needs more hip-hop acts. Peace.
He’s been working with rappers like Q Tip and Tyler the Creator so hopefully that’ll happen
I don't like how he's trying to get the lion's share and profit off Prince's legacy by releasing the Camille album. Let the Estate release it & leave Prince's legacy alone. They don't need his help.
