    I really appreciate your channel and it has helped me view what my future could possibly look like if I were to go down the route of getting a PhD! With the confidence of watching your channel and other PhD-Based channels, I have overcame my insecurities and realized that I certainly am gonna get my masters once I finish undergrad.Thank you for making these videos for us

    there are so many ways to go about it and everyone develops their own process. for me it was about making daily incremental progress just doing whatever i was capable of each day regardless of how varied that was over a daily/weekly/monthly/yearly span. being able to derive satisfaction from my small daily gains was clutch, and I hope you are able to feel that for yourself, bc you are working v hard!!

    I just discovered your vlog and I loooove your videos!!!
    So relatable! I find writing the hardest thing overall, whether it’s sci writing or something random like content creation, because it’s about producing output. I feel like it’s super hard to put my thoughts together, but journaling seems to help as it teaches you to overcome the fear of starting to write (even though it’s completely unrelated to research, it’s all about building the habit, I’d say).
    But yeah I would really like to join some kind of writing sprint.....

    I saw a couple of your videos a few weeks ago, then I've spent all that time until now watching your entire backlog, and now I'm all caught up! So excited to be here with you in "real time." You've kept me great company while I've been doing some projects, so thank you for that! 😊

    Random question that popped into my head while watching this vid - do you think you'll vlog the job market process/when you're a faculty member? That would be so cool to see your vlogs at every stage of academic life!

      That’s a good question! Def vlogging the job market/application process! I love vlogging so much I can’t see myself stopping, but it will probably look a little different as a prof!

    How do you pick your case studies, and do you ask their permission to use them as a case study? I’m curious if you have to do an IRB for your work!

    • @SarahFischerVlogs
      @SarahFischerVlogs  5 місяців тому +6

      IRB isn’t required because they’re public artifacts! But as part of my methodology rooted in a feminist ethos of care, I do ask the vloggers if they’re comfortable be analyzed in this way. I identified 4 categories of vloggers: student vloggers, full time creators, part time creators (have another job in addition to YT), and mommy vloggers and I chose one person (not representative of the category but insightful into the category) from each. If I turn this into a book, I would have interviews and way bigger sample sizes!

    Hey I have been watching your videos for a while now they are amazing and motivates me to do my own work .I had few questions which I wana ask you is doing PhD worth it. It's like we're you interested in doing major in English only.And what are your plans after PhD.And what are other job opportunities we can get after PhD.I hope you will reply.
    I will appreciate it.😊😊

      A PhD is only worth it if your job requires it and if it’s funded imo. I plan to apply to colleges and universities to be an English professor! I’ve always known I wanted to study English. I minored in Linguistics + Spanish in undergrad!
