  • Typhochlaena seladonia is still one of the most beautiful tarantulas out there and we are feeding the adult female specimen today! Make sure to watch through to see others, including Pamphobeteus and Theraphosa species in this video!
Normally there will be no feeding clips on this channel - but this video should be an exception, feel free to watch it on the big screen in your living room in 4K to distract you a little from the current situation the world is in. Stay healthy everyone!

    T. Seladonia is like a rare, expensive Pokémon or MTG card: you may to get to play it that often, but it's great to have in your collection anyway!

Great video as always, Martin! By the way, I used a grater to shred some cork bark, and put in on the ground of the enclosure. My seladonia used those pieces to build her trap door...

I'm challenging all my fav tarantula keepers to let us know what species you would keep if you could only keep 10 tarantulas and no more. Please include old and new world (not a beginner list). A mating pair counts as 2 of the 10 on the list.

Excellent vid so informative on the species!! I’ve just managed to get a specimen last week so I’m still waiting for the little t to create a trap door ? Just wondering how long it could take
    Kindest Regards

So I’m not exactly a fan of spiders in general. I’m more of an insect fan (I keep honeybees). And I’d even say that I’m not much interested in owning traditional tarantulas but this is definitely one exception I’d make! For a few years now I’ve watched videos on these and it’s looking like they’re more available than they were, of course I could be wrong. It’s not like I’ve tried to find one to purchase yet. But I’m happy to see more and more videos about them and seeing more people keeping them. I’m sure they’re still pretty expensive but would you think they’re acceptable for a first time owner that’s not interested in owning a large tarantula? I find these to be absolutely beautiful and unlike any spider I’ve ever seen before! And I love that they’re trapdoor spiders- always found those to be quite interesting!

Thanks so much for this footage. Absolutely incredible. It’s brightened my day! As always, the technical information about the hair colours on Seladonia and Apophysis was masterfully done and simply fascination to hear about. For me your channel can’t be bettered or beaten by others. The LED camera was inspired idea to bring out the colours. Thank you so much. Utterly brilliant Martin!

pretty spoods 💕 i watched my Euathlus parvulus moult this morning it looks really nice even tho it is still only a small spiderlet ~2.5cm wide it already has nice colours and patterns
also I know you don't want to do feeding video stuff but there's nothing wrong with seeing some feeding clips on a channel like this bcus you don't just throw crickets in and watch the spiders eat, you talk a little bit about the different species too

typhochlaena seladonia are so beautiful. I have just discovered them tonight when I was doing some research on early registered species. They are so tiny, I almost couldn't believe it. I wish I could have one my own.

the green in the C. cyaneopubescens is certainly a color, not like with the blue - but let's see what science finds out more on them :)

what do you need to know? Easy to keep species, very oppurtinistic. Give it a place to burrow in and it will be happy :)

I wanted to know where it comes from and the size they get to because I've had it a year and it's grown quickly and I want to get it a big enough enclosure to stay in for a long time because I don't like to keep rehousing fosoreal species 😀 thanks.
