Throw your whole academy away at that point when you lose to a school team
What does academy mean when it’s just a minor club team ? It’s just a name to creat a myth of pay to play .
I know, right???!? I know I'm being harsh because it's only one match - I just would have expected the academy team to be SIGNIFICANTLY better than a school team (even if it is a private school) but then again maybe that's just my preconceived idea.
@@DrMacca Yea i guess pay to play is just a myth but sadly that’s the only efficient way you can go pro in America
@@DrMacca That's cause AIFC isn't an actual Academy team. They aren't listed anywhere on the USSDA site at all.
@@samoday2992 ..No, an academy team plays in the USSDA youth soccer ranks. That's what it means when someone says an "Academy Team".
55 missed 3 easy chances, need to put someone cleaner up front
He'd fit right in with the MLS then
lmao missed chances but was relentless, played a peach of a driven cross to someone with an open net, some surging runs as well with the ball, sometimes it’s not your day.
@@pintodabomb nah my little brother could do a better job than him he needs serious training
@@user-to2fs1nu6e is ur lil brother playing against 17 year olds in a Academy
@@pintodabomb he shoulda had a hattrick bro, hes gotta put those away especially being a "academy" player
Number 18 in white gives me Hella ozil vibes his composure and vision is the best I've seen in this match
I was feeling these vibes too. Riquelme thrown in as will
He was good but the 2 cms he was up against were really average
Ozil doesn’t play on the wings mate
@@tyrikeseratan2410 he wasn’t playing on the wings he was in the middle of the park the whole game
Ozil? We’ve not seen him play well in about 6 years
Based the on these highlights , AIFc were the more dominating side. Plenty of chances to put the game away. The couple of chances St.Aindrews got were enough to win. Losing games like these really hurt. Overall both sides played well.
Ahhh i reasonable comment!
as well as the last play not actuslly being offside. at the start it seemed like aifc were dominating but the defense was great but the rest of the match was owned by the blacks

18 on white team... pure class
Ua he had some good moments is didnt include all of them here. Real quality
Plays like a pro
Well he is playing against people who have either never played football or only just started yesterday
@@Jordan_Saville they’re not too bad tbh well atleast not as bad as people in the other videos
11:14
18 from White has some really good technical skills. A gifted play maker. And Diego too, no.22 from the white shirts. He is really good at covering his area and delivering the ball forward. And Both keepers were good in their boxes.
Honestly I found this match more enjoyable than a few of the knockouts in the champions league.
yeah, I feel playing in school playgrounds with tiny goals massively improves technical skills, because you have a lot less space to play out of, and the goals are tiny. wouldn't be suprised if school teams were better than some youth clubs
Both the teams were completely trash 💀 what kinda teams do you guys have?!? Not even 10 year olds play that bad here
Are you serious, only thing that helped the home team was the ridiculous referee. Never a free kick for first goal and never offside for visitors close to end. By far better more natural players in visiting team.
entire match is a bruh moment
The amount of sitters missed in this game blows my mind
Fun match to watch - thanks for posting. Also, these kids acted more mature than 99% of the adults who play football on this channel (islands football aside)! lol
They for real need to take notes from these kids
6:56 lmaoooooo
Wtf bro
seriously tho that's never a foul
Excellent match. I was a bit surprised with the black team's struggles to finish their chances. White won that match against the run of play but all in all an excellent match!! Well done gents!!

Defender should’ve cleared it ngl.
Keeper probably just hesitated that maybe his defender would’ve lost that ball when shielding
Miscommunication it happens alot but can be fixed so I don't think it's too bad
This really is some quality content! Im glad i can watch these video’s. Im from Belgium and all non-proffesional football is cancelled due to COVID. #18 on white is a baller
There’s no way one of them is an academy team they’re not good enough to be an actual pro academy maybe it’s just in their name
In U.S academy doesn’t always refer to pro level I think academy is like above premier or whatever not rly sure
@@stillin5369 this teams not an actual academy its just in their name
I’ve seen way faster and more quality gameplay for highschoolers
Academy is just another word for Prep school in Canada. Its not an actual Academy team.
It’s pay to play the quality isn’t outrageous
Black played a good game but I guess white wanted it more second half. Game could have easily been 5-2 maybe even 6-2 but a lot of missed easy opportunities. Good foot work and ball control from both teams for the most part.
7:21 i couldn't help but laugh
These kids are thrash. One or 2 good players. Not a easy game to watch.
My eyes was on number 18 white team what a legend playing like a pro
Great game. That was onside at the end of the game tho.
Nah, it's where the player is when the ball is played/touched. Close but no offsides at the end.
@@coach714 You can use the football lines on the field to clearly see that there was no offsides.
@@dalenhamilton at the time of commenting this i havent seen to the end of the video but im pretty sure pre-painted lines dont determine whether or not you are offside because its if the player is in front of the last defender when the ball is played/touched they are offside
@tom mckeown i know the rule but the line is horizontal so you can clearly tell if he was offsides or not and he wasn’t
I thought so too. Funny enough people are replying like you don't know the rule🤦🏿♂️😂.
If you look at the guy in white he is closer to the white line than his opponent. And using the lines just makes it easier, otherwise for me even before using the lines to determine whether it was an offside or not, I could clearly see it wasn't.
AIFC you could maybe work on sometime fast paced final third situational drills, this would help with decision making in the final third so it doesn't feel so foreign to the players when they get there. Easily should've closed this game but you're forwards had some nerves they need to workout on the training grounds. Bol
Pretty good highlights over all. Academy seemed behind the ball all game. Well played for the private school. Saw a lot of unselfishness and technicality in their style of play.
a good game
whoever set up the cameras for this game was on point!
Wow. Both good teams & both had good goalies. Bright futures.
I remember when I was like 12 playing against an academy team and my coach before the game was going on about how he wishes all of us can eventually get into an academy program and play at the highest level. Then we smashed the academy team 9-0. Also they were 1 year older. Later when I was 16 I played against Sounders academy and got beat comfortably 2-0. Idk how the first academy is allowed to be called an academy tho
night not have been their first team or as you say they could have been just terrible. Allot of academies/ teams in my area have also had great skill drops because of player injuries and usually the best players will become friends and all move to a certain club / academy and leave there old places dry with the worse players
11:29 this dude screaming like he just got shot lol
to be fair, a knee to that specific area of your upper leg can hurt to some degree, in some cases it could even make your leg go numb for a good few secs

Ikrr 😂😂😂
you guys ruthless I guess its good he gets some criticism - just like pros would get. Strikers - big glory sometimes, all the blame sometimes
@@ISTSoccer everyone should use “criticism” as motivation 💯
@@ISTSoccer sorry, it's just that I play competitive soccer and when 55 had those easy goals and didn't take that opportunity to take them it irritated me.
@@2dirtyy158 ya i hear ya. I was a midfielder... pretty good for the level I was playing but sometimes i tried striking and it was weird.. I'd be missing sitters, tap ins.. its a different kinda pressure 4 sure. I wasnt built for it I guess
This was definitely at the Prep school. The ref gave the prep school a lot of iffy calls. The last one didn't even look off sides to me when the ball was kicked.
Still better than most premier league matches i watch
Keeper on black was great. Sadly couldn't stop that fk even though he had it covered. Prep school keeper on the other hand made more than a few bad decisions that put his team on defense immediately. Black team needed to put away all those clear goals and they would've walked away 5-2
Keeper on the black team sucked. Did very poorly on the free kick. That should have been a standard save.
@@loukola5353 that's what makes the world unique friend. Differing opinions.
Yeah he was absolute cheeks
@@loukola5353 based on the non keeper uniform. I'm guessing he plays out. If you gonna have a kit so is your keeper...
@@mileskreid I think he had a kit but it was white and the other team was wearing white so he had to wear something above his jersey
Pretty clean game everyone played well. Don’t underestimate school teams. A lot of these schools recruit across a large region with families moving to a location just to play for that school.
Great quality
Both sides are super flashy, questionable on the ball. Some alright passes that just aren't weighted properly or don't lead the receiving player enough. Plenty of shots taken that weren't really there.
nice match ! very gud played. nice plays from both teams
5:35 😮💨🥶bro cold with it
no 18 on white is a really good attacking mid drifting wide and cutting in just good to watch
smith-rowe style of play. just performs better
5:35 he may have got a nice skill highlight out of it but every single day of the week he should have played his striker through here
The defender blocked his angle a little and he looked to be offside by the time he was clean open
@@JJ-re4qk if you pause the video at 5:37 you can see by the lines on the pitch that he is clearly onside, and the technique to play the ball wouldn't be hard, just outside of the foot, but yes I can see what you're saying as in a game it all happens so quick so I understand!
I think that would have put the strike in a weird angle to be honest...
Academy need to work on their shots wtf😂
Aifc goalie and forward with beard are straight bops. Bench players for me.
the freekick tho !
55 cant finish at all 50 on black is a beast he wasn’t offside at the end and created opportunities. Same for 18 in white
50 on black, 18 on white and 22 on white were great, the white players with superb technical ability. however, 55 from black and 17 from white remind me of timo werner and callum robinson respectively
black creates decent chances but need to improve finishing

The boy with the Hat is a good player 👌🏻
18 on white best player on that team by far. But the ref gave them all the opportunity to score a goal. White was completely out of its league, but thanks to 18 and the ref they won
I've never seen a game filled with this many slow players
AIFC has a better overall ball control but lack of composure. St Aindrews' 18 is the MVP for this match.
18 white is pretty good. Other are quite meh
18 and 22 on white team were my fav
A few players on AIFC look like the few players I saw in other videos for indoor
last play was onside but thats how it goes
It’s like watching primary school football
AIFC was dominating the whole game, sucks they lost but they have to work on their end-game, my HS team has the same problems, found myself getting exited for two teams ive never seen before
Would have helped if the referee was neutral, clearly a teacher at home side.
Well, at least they're playing on a football field.
55 on black looks like timo Werner missing all those sitters lol
Public school when the talented kids make grades for the first few weeks of the season are way better lol

THE KEEPEr with the SAFVEEEE
1:40 GREAT SKILL THER! well done
As an European, I am very surprised (positively) by the fitness levels and technique displayed by many players. At the same time, it's very surprising to see how easily they give the ball away in midfield, and the lack of tension many of them have. Looks as if losing the ball in front of your box was an OK thing to do.
Also, AIFC really need to work on their finishing. They missed so many sitters, and could have made much more in different counter-attacks. To me, the worst part ain't missing a goal, but making it look like it's not a big deal. It should be. Players should be taking more responsibility IMO.
Also, the free kick went in through the middle of the goal...
Great editing and an enjoyable video to watch!
I think Americans have great fitness but suck at everything else.
@@NickolaySheitanov well the free kick wasn't that bad. The only thing i disliked was how easily they gave the ball and how easily they fell (mostly the defenders)
Wait till Dougie sees this💀
I would be interested in seeing this comparison in St. Louis...the main “prep”conference, the MCC (metro catholic conference), is one of the toughest conferences in the nation when it comes to soccer. But the academies are no joke either esp. St. Louis Scott Gallagher (aka STLFC for a few years) but now with the emergence of an actual MLS team/affiliate, St. Louis City SC Academy, it will be interesting to see in the coming years how/where players decide to go...
...For instance Taylor Twellman (among many others) played MCC but Josh Sargent played for SLSG Academy...
@@jamfam9326 tell me more about this. Where exactly is this?
@@ISTSoccer St. Louis, MO. An extremely storied history in the game...SLU has the most NCAA championships, the 1950 World Cup team had something like 6 just from St. Louis, and there’s typically at least 1 St. Louisan in our WC squads year after year. Tim Ream (possibly on the way out) and Josh Sargent, currently.
The MLS program is also being headed by Lutz Pfannenstiel, he was instrumental in the building of Hoffenheim’s structure/team/style-of-play...so a lot to look forward to as well when CITY comes to fruition.

18 on white team and 50 on blck team played really well
Both teams are great but the academy team was really outclassed and couldn't finish so great chances well deserved win for the private school the academy has some work to do...
how are any of them in an academy or private school lmao
10:20 nice build up play
The title makes it sound like 2 groups fighting
Guys i have a question, i was 13 and played u15 now im 14 should i move up to u16 or stay in u15?
remember - the advice you get may not necessarily be the best (mine included) - everyone's got an opinion. That being said... I've heard from a former professional this tip - find the best possible team that you can play on - where you are either average or below average compared to everyone else.. work your butt off to become the best. Then go to another team where you are average or below average. Repeat the same process. If you are the best on your team, you're on the wrong team. Good luck!
