Comments:
The game is visually beautiful, in graphics, videos, animations and arts. It was creative in allowing us to play with dinosaurs, creating different game mechanics. In relation to humans, with various weapons, and with the hook mechanic, allowing for new challenges in the stages. The game has several enemies and the stages are very varied. The music is also a highlight. I don't know if it's from the film or exclusive to the game, but it gives the feeling of a movie. Now to the negative points: Camera very close, and sometimes you can't see an approaching enemy. And if that wasn't enough, the game sometimes places obstacles in front of the camera, such as trees, to hide an enemy. Soon it becomes necessary to die and decorate what lies ahead. But the biggest negative point for me are the platforms. As it is an essence of the game, I found them to be too 'broken' and sometimes it is difficult to get the jumps right, especially with the dinosaurs. You can notice when the character jumps and 'crosses' a corner of the platform, or when trying to climb an inclined wall he skids and doesn't go up. Furthermore, the gameplay is a bit slow, you feel the character's jump is a bit slow, heavy. Of course, after repeating a section 1000 times, you start to play almost with your eyes closed because your muscle memory has already saved the details. And this leads (or comes) to another point: the game's difficulty. First, due to the delay in showing passwords, having to go through several stages in a row (up to a total of 9, right at the beginning with Compy). Secondly, because there are situations in some sections that leave you not knowing very well what to do in moments of confrontation, which quickly sucks all the lives. For example, how to get past Carnotaurus with Compsognatus, or Triceratops and Allosaurus with Trex. Moments when I had to see references to know what to do, and even then, it is not synonymous with achieving it immediately, making it necessary to put the theory into practice until you master it. For example, against Triceratops, you need to duck and bite at the right time as it approaches (and bite with the square, as with the circle it takes longer). Against the Allosaurus it is necessary to advance close to it, and do so quickly to catch it, and then retreat with the triangle. With the human against the Pterosaur, which can be VERY annoying, it was even difficult to develop a technique against it, which is to stand still, wait for it to approach and attack, retreat at the right time, and shoot it on the ground, jump over it, move away, and repeat once more. These are things that I didn't found it explained, and I had to understand and develop them by myself. So this is a game that forces you to become an expert at it. When you pass a character's segment, it's because you've mastered it, and if you go back and start from the beginning, it will go by much faster. This happened to me in practically every segment. Only the velociraptor one took me a while to get through and I didn't go back to get through the stages again in a row, because in all the Raptor stages there were lives to get, and that allowed me to get them and die over and over again, keeping the same amount of lives. This is another game that suffered from the lack of explanation of commands. Until you discover that R1 makes the character follow an alternative path... Until you discover how to eat an enemy with Trex, which changed the command compared to the previous dinos... Ultimately, it's a challenging game, which sometimes forces you to be aggressive, keep attacking quickly, to gain more strength and make progress faster and easier. This is a game that requires effort and patience, it takes work to master the stages, but once you finish it it becomes much easier to replay. I gave it 4 stars, and I consider it missing 1 just due to the lack of balance in difficulty. If it had more passwords, it could be completed much faster, but the game chose to force you to master it (which isn't exactly bad, but it is stressful).
