    Lovely footage of the Park and Flavia's Quinta. The term is a little confusing.
    I thought Quinta translated to Thursday🤔 My late father was from Lajes do Pico. He often tended to the family's Pomar which I believe tranlates to Orchard.
    What a blessing it must be to have one in your back yard😳😊 The synergy with the chickens walking around feeding and fertilizing is a stroke of Genius!🤣

Once we get to our rental house in Furnas on the 2nd we'll take a few days to take a breather to make sure we're oriented and then hit the pavement shopping for houses, which will include flying over to Pico for a few days for this purpose. jetsettr20@gmail.com I want to get the full vibe before deciding. Hi ! Laura and Carlos ; What would be interesting for me , who has never lived on an island. to find out about the wind and breeze. I would assume it always comes from the sea?
    Also I read on a number of occasions that it gets humid everywhere in zpirtugsl and the walls and foundations get really wet, condensation builds up ( is that mostly in winter months ?) Hie do you desk with the moisture build up and the effects of so much moisture. ( mold , structural issues,) cheers !

    • @ourjourneyonpicoisland-car552
      @ourjourneyonpicoisland-car552  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Gail! Wind also comes from the mountain, especially on Pico. Yes, in the winter it gets humid. It's felt more in the older homes, new builds are better insulated . Either way, these days you can have various options to help with the humidity; wood stoves, 2 in 1 heat and ac units, upgrade insulation, better building materials etc. I hope this helps! Cheers!

    I’m surprised at the number of trees in the island … Terceira island is similar in size, but definitely less trees according to my observations. Trees are a major contributor to the island’s beauty. I guess the rule might be .. the higher the population ( more BBQs) the less trees.
