- Food & Freedom: Dreaming Food Just Futures Through Prison Abolition was a panel event exploring the intersections between policing, prison abolition, and food justice.
The panel discussed the present-day relationship between food security and policing, surveillance and incarceration in Toronto and beyond, and explored existing and future community-based models which bring together principles of abolition and food sovereignty.
We welcomed three incredible speakers at the panel:
Butterfly GoPaul (Jane Finch Action Against Poverty)
Kanav Kathuria (The Maryland Food & Prison Abolition Project)
Rinaldo Walcott (University of Toronto)
And host Moe Pramanick (FoodShare).
