  • Food & Freedom: Dreaming Food Just Futures Through Prison Abolition was a panel event exploring the intersections between policing, prison abolition, and food justice.
    The panel discussed the present-day relationship between food security and policing, surveillance and incarceration in Toronto and beyond, and explored existing and future community-based models which bring together principles of abolition and food sovereignty.
    We welcomed three incredible speakers at the panel:
    Butterfly GoPaul (Jane Finch Action Against Poverty)
    Kanav Kathuria (The Maryland Food & Prison Abolition Project)
    Rinaldo Walcott (University of Toronto)
    And host Moe Pramanick (FoodShare).
