Great video! Thanks for posting it for us. I have surfed Huntington Beach, CA when I was about 14. I'm 55 today. My uncle was a surfer and lived in Hawaii for a while and took me out. I was a skateboarder in Austin,TX. and standing on my first wave I ever caught blew him away. I dreamed of trying a North Shore Oahu wave ever since. I feel my window is quickly closing to ever catch a wave like these. I have never seen a surfing video from the surfers perspective. Like I'm fulfilling my dream. Thanks again.
Looks like you're surfing well to me! I know those sessions, where it feels like nothing is clicking, but the beauty of surfing is that we can always improve on something the next day/week.
Yeah it happens to everyone I think, and not just surfers! The conditions can be great and you can be surfing well but still feels like your not in rhythm with the sea! Can be frustrating if it happens when the waves are firing but as you say, there is always another day 🤙
@@TomPidden Absolutely agree, those days are frustrating af... Even worse on a little shortboard just because once you get past the noodle-arm stage you just want to call it a day. Looks so beautiful there though, man. I'd love to get myself to Australia at some point, that water looks irresistible!
@@joeboonmusic4004 hitting noodle arm stage when your looking for one good one in is the worst! Can end up paddling around for ages trying to save the session with the chances of doing so going down with every attempt ahaha
@@TomPidden Toootally... I live on the west coast of England, we get some beautiful surf here especially in the winter, but man does it get cold! Multiply those noodle arms by cold war and it becomes a battle ground! It's part of the reason that a fair few years ago I switched to riding more 'alternative' boards like logs and twin fins, seem to get more wave time and I'm more into working on my style than I am on surfing super high-performance!
@@joeboonmusic4004 Not as cold as the East coast though! Even the pros are going for more volume nowadays! Boosts the wave count and modern board and materials allow for more volume without increased weight and reduced manoeuvrability!
Very good POV video on surfing, and the first one i've watched like this! We did one also, a documentary, on the reality of shark attacks! In our playlist; sharks
Nice ride
