Well done mate. I've own dozens since the xw xy and everything in between. Even though I love that old stuff, the most reliable, powerful and honest old girl I owned was an XG Ute.
I still cry at night.
It went to the wreckers on a difficult week with no rust. Leather seats, LPG tints lovely alloy bars etc etc. I couldn't get $2500 for her with no rust nice paint etc.
Powerful too.
I made the big mistake (after 7 years of loyal driving) of buying a turbo charged BA Ute. What a heap of shit. If it could break, it did.
It had more balls than brains and could go like he'll but not stop.
I ended up hating it and missing my old XG that never once stopped. She did aciol in the driveway once thats all.
I've had them all. As soon as ford went to the split body they were gone. I admire you and anyone saving these old girls.

I love my XH, despite its typical "fordisms" it's a fun, reliable ute and can carry hell of a load for what it is. love seeing other XH's out on the road or on youtube. They're getting harder and harder to find.
Thats a bargain Graham, much better than the former submarine you first bought! LSD with the Sunraysia wheels makes it a Longreach, not a tradesman, thats better so great!

The Landcruiser loves towing it's like there is nothing on the back, V8 petrol😉
Just thinking the liner is in such good nike they probably used the ute to spread feed to livestock and as a general runabout..you got a bargain mate.

Loved the road trip(Queensland) to get that winner. No rust, lots of extras, half a tool kit, dirty but clean, complete and it runs well at such a best bargain price. wow! You have the skills and its another save. Thanks heaps.

Still keeping it to complete her one day.

Looks like you got a very good deal there mate.
I live in South Africa in the Western Cape area, which is situated at the bottom section of the country.
I bought a 1997 Ford Falcon Ute last month, in very good condition with only 146,000 Kms on the clock
2 owners and a full service history. Over here they were badged as a Ford Ranchero, the model i have is a GLi
Although mine is a 5 speed manual, but no diff lock, and no rear tray protector.
Very similar to the TRADESMAN model you got, exactly the same engine as i noticed in your video.
I wonder if could help me with some engine parts codes / numbers / details etc.
I am battling to purchase a new air cleaner for my vehicle over here, do you have a code / part number
for that. As the one the spares shops are giving me is for the later model engine which is a larger air cleaner.
Also would you have a code / part number for the distributer cap, i also need to replace.

$100 for gas, for the long flats.
$75 for petrol, power for the hills
$100 for trailer hire
$600 for the ute

I may have used some poetic licence regarding the Cruiser's fuel consumption
and been incorrect about that one.
However, I noticed your greys (sorry, me too) and lack of big shed and I think, as man with too
many projects myself, this bloke should throw himself at the mercy of the court,
hopefully the Jury may see their way to letting him off, seeing he redeemed himself
with the barn find, by giving him a warning, with him undertaking a promise to
never, ever buy a vehicle/boat/motor or any toy, unseen AND after the partaking
of wine/beer/spirits.
That is my honest legal( Not qualified) opinion.
