  • I love film photography but sadly, I had to go back to digital because of one simple reason.

Film has became very expensive. I now shoot color FF digital. I shoot some B&W 35mm and mostly medium and large format film. I probably will not shoot any 35mm color film until film prices fall below 10.00 a roll.

in a discussion a while ago, someone asked about the most secure way of backing up a digital image...the answer is:
a large format transparency; a proven lifetime of 200 years, with no issues of file format, or media writers and readers...such a transparency can be viewed by a human, and, if desired, recaptured in whatever digital format is the flavour of that month.
a perfect example is the discussions about 8-bit colour vs. 16-bit colour, a few years ago, with "respected experts" proclaiming that 8-bit colour was sufficient for any possible needs..but, even at that time, developers were building display technology with 20 bits, or more, dynamic range *per channel*, and digital cameras today quite commonly provide 14-bits per channel, and fast ADCs with more dynamic range improvement every year. even oscilloscopes today are providing 12 to 14 bits resolution, at Gigasample/second rates.
basically, "digital" is a moving target, but analog recordings can provide stability and resolution, as needed...rant out!

Wow, I never knew this! Thanks for sharing this one. Even though analog is considered old, it's still really powerful.

    Nice video Boss Ched!
I started film photography as well few months ago for the same reasons; nostalgia and 90’s kid vibe that we used to have.
Luckily film rolls are a bit cheaper here in Dubai but I didn’t have yet my first film roll be developed due to work schedule. Looking forward to learn more about this genre in photography.
More power to your channel! See you soon Bro.

Happy to know that you're also into the hobby, boss Jet!
Nothing can beat the 90s kid vibe nostalgia haha. I'm looking forward to the results of your first roll!
See you soon, bro! Take care 🤘🏻
