Reddick is still young, he’s not injury prone, and he was an AP in 2022. He’s only played 7 seasons so the Jets can easily get 3 seasons out of him at his price and then cut him loose.
Which is exactly why he holds out from camp. It's the only leverage that he has.

Actually Shady the Jets DIDN’T know Reddick was gonna hold out they are surprised. Cause both parties had a verbal agreement that Reddick might miss OTAs and minicamp but not training camp. So they are blindsided by this hold out!!

Awesome for them beating 2 teams that went to the playoffs last season while they did what in the playoffs? Nothing, they did nothing because they didn't make the playoffs, again. 2010 was the last season they were in the playoffs and now people are talking about them in the Superbowl or AFC championship game. The offensive unit that needs the most time to jell is the O Line, and the Jets have 3 new starters there protecting an old, immobile QB coming off a major injury that every defensive lineman in the league is aware of. I’ll trust the Jets to beat Mahomes before I trust Lamar Jackson, against the Mahomes you need someone who has been there, doesn’t panic, and can make passes when needed. Last season some defenses ( except for the Bills) were able to keep the Chiefs honest for a while in some games, but the problem was the QB play ( L Jackson was poor) and against the 49ers, D again was good but I thought Brock didn’t make some passes I think a more seasoned QB would make.

Guys Bryce huff was not going to sign with the Jets regardless of pay because he wanted a bigger role and in our defense as you may or may not know we rotate or d line and rushers a lot.

I'm in the camp of defensive players should never have to hold out. They get all the blame none of the credit they take most of the risks physically from football And the league does whatever it can to make their job harder every year. And as for Rogers... He's 40... No they're not winning a super bowl, it's not realistic, they aren't getting close, he's not finishing the season.

I think Reddick is still a really good player. I think he is ver important to the Jets defense. I dont think he is he missing piece though. He isn even the best defensive player on the team. Actually the jets could have done nothing and pay Huff and you would get basically the same guy and the same production. We dont know if Huff can do this in 2024 again but we also dont know if Reddick still can. in 23 both were similar with maybe even a slight edge to Huff. if reddick wants what Huff got from the eagles this whole thing was just stupid because they cut Huff due to being too expensive.
