About 6 Contributors With an interesting, upbeat instrumental, Tyler delivers his vocals on “Glowing Eyes” in a similarly cheerful manner. The lyrics however tell a much darker story. The song explores topics such as sociology, depression, apathy, and the alluring pull that the idea of death can have on an individual. The “glowing eyes” seem to represent a form of negativity of which the narrator is reluctant to let go of (addiction). This wish for the preservation of those things that cause our sadness may seem strange, but is actually rather common among the depressed. Cool idea - I didn't think about Clancy and Redcrosse being connected! I thought maybe Clancy was named that because he is fighting against red or maybe the bishops want him to be a warrior on their side.
Seeing as The Faerie Queene is a Christian Allegory... In a Christian context this gives "Clancy Is Dead" a whole new meaning. Especially if Clancy isn't /really/ dead, and that's just propaganda. If Clancy is our Redcrosse--our righteous hero on his own Pilgrim's Progress... then death could actually be something different. The Bible talks about how we "die" to our old self and become a new person in Christ. And baptism is a symbolic death--being "buried" under water like Jesus and then raised from the dead by the glory of the Father to "walk in newness of life." And even literal death is something that is only physical as the soul lives on eternally. Or else if not that, which I grant is a bit heavy-handed and oddly specific--maybe saying Clancy/Redcrosse is dead is a way of saying "there is no holiness in DEMA" ...Maybe Clancy tried to get out of DEMA by being holy on his own. In the Christian faith, the only holiness we can have comes from the Holy Spirit, not our own ability to be good. So maybe Clancy managed to escape the vile (vial) clutches of DEMA once, but wouldn't join the banditos... he tried to find his own holiness, but just ended up lost in Trench (or the bishops of DEMA got him again).
@@ohifonlyx33 The Christian allegory also kind of fits with the termination of dmaorg, Clancy's website. The site began "terminating" on good Friday at 3pm EST, the day Jesus died and around the same time (accounts say he died around 3pm) and then the termination ended 3 days later similar to how Jesus rose again 3 days later. You could say that Clancy's website/journal died and then rose again 3 days later, with basically the birth of a new era on 5th April.

Are we ignoring how the dragon at 2:50 looks EXACTLY like the dragon on the album cover??? Not even just the eyes, the way the head and wings are placed, the shape of the fire coming out of its nose, EVERYTHING. No way this is a coincidence.
It’s the idea of us destroying Clancy. Clancy I think is both a person and idea. Him being the idea of hope or rebellion against our tormentors. Whoever is controlling the narrative wants these ideas extinguished. It’s why the word destroy plays at the end of shy away, and why we see Clancy is dead/ scaled and icy everywhere. Everyone is talking about the name of the album, repeating it constantly, and those who know what it stands for are forced to relive that message again and again.
The street referenced by the map is named "Clancy Way" Maybe it's not saying "Destroy Clancy", maybe it's saying "Destroy Clancy Way." They don't just want to stop Clancy, they want to destroy what he stands for.
but you ended up being so right about those eerie, piercing yellow eyes, y'know, 'cause of Bishop control. i mean this was already a stellar video too :)
I was thinking something along these lines, but i hadn't looked into the illustrator, that part is really interesting. Like you said, I don't think tyler is going to outright be like "so uh capitalism bad" he's probably going to keep being metaphorical and vague about it just like almost everything he does.
@@christinaleonard1510 yeah, I think it has a bit to do with my biases and personally, I will admit that. I guess what I meant is even if he was anti-capitalist he probably wouldn't be super up front about it. I also admit that people can criticize capitalism without being completely anti-capitalist. I also know that i don't know enough about economic systems to fully discuss alternatives to capitalism and that whole dealio. So yes, he could very likely just be critiquing greed and consumerism. I just find it fun to explore my own thoughts about things through art that i see, so i'm more likely to have an anti-capitalist reading. I also found the additional connection to the socialist illustrator particularly interesting but even using that added info it's all just discussion and theorizing and I guess more of a way for us to project our own opinions and have discussions and make stuff inspired by top. Dude, now that the new album has been teased, I CANT wait for your video concluding the whole lore!!! I just LOVEEE that we are back in business again✨
Awesome connections there, that makes so much sense of their style! Another thing about the dragon is that its iciness might embody the coldness referred to in the judge (“I know my soul’s freezing”) and in “Oh Ms Believer” (“We get colder as we grow older... your twisted thoughts are like snow on the road”). Given that both songs allude to doubt ("Ms Believer" is like "Missbeliever", and Tyler describes himself as being "best friends with [his] doubt" in the Judge), this iciness seems to be a reference to faith going cold. If so, this may mean the dragon stands for an entity who makes faith go cold (which could be “[Tyler] or the devil” if the Judge is anything to go by) by spreading deception. Thematically it would make sense if this dragon represented some controlling ominous entity behind Dema, and it would fit nicely with the parallels you can get from Christian sources, where Blurryface would parallel the "flesh" (the sinful aspect of our hearts), Dema would parallel the "world" (the systems which try to conform everyone to some false standard), and this Scaled and Icy dragon would parallel the "devil" (who is depicted as "a dragon" and "a serpent" "who deceives the whole world" in the book of Revelation (which alludes to Genesis 3) - this fits nicely with the image of the snake wrapped around the globe). Those are my two cents, hope you all have a lovely day and God bless :)

I'm certain everyone is already familiar with this tidbit, but for anyone who does not know: Hearing Jimmy talk about the album cover reminded me of the video Justin Anderson put out on his channel about 8 months ago? Regarding the digital copy of the Blurryface album. Those two blacker than black hemicircles on the left? side of the front cover. They line up perfectly with Trash's eyes. (And possibly with Clifford's also.) And they are so easy to overlook, or not even notice at all. And once again, Tyler's obsession with negative space as his guiding thematic spirit forever now asserts itself again. Most essentially, the way that negative space design is often totally undetectable until it is seen. The same way I couldn't see the cross in Tyler's tattoo until I saw the cross in Tyler's tattoo. And speaking of Tyler's tattoos..what about those jumpsuits? That the damn backing band wears! Okay. That is all I have at this time. Later, suki

So true I can't wait for there other album of twenty one pilots and there lyrics have scripture in there music I hope one day they drop a gospel album but in there style Next year ☺️ God bless you for spending the good news God bless you and Jesus loves you .
Your videos are amazing, love everything about them
New sub. Tyler is Christian so I can see the biblical stuff. I can't freaking wait for album💙✌l-/
yeah the whole faerie queene is a very biblical story, since i'm not religious i don't feel i have much authority on the topic, but i love seeing those interpretations!
Yes very true. But what I can’t shake is the fact that Tyler said Trench was a world with no God, yet he seems to allude to him in songs like chlorine and leave the city.
@@bigshotz1240 what i think he meant is that it’s a world that needed it and that’s why nico and the niners which have a story if their own are trying to break the cycle and infiltrate
He's talking about satan's kingdom in the spiritual realm!
These guys work so hard to make you ask yourselft what is thoses forces we fight. They are in the spiritual realm. Jesus came to give us power over the demons of this surnatural realm. Satan want you to think there is just the natural realm that exist. A majority of your problems are demons living in you.
You can't get rid of the problem without getting the demons out.
Tyler know about Jesus and everything
Go watch Wittaker and tyler joseph music
again, a stunning dive into this thing we call a band. great job.
I like how a lot of this is confirmed in Never Take It
this is art and i wish there was a way to get it onto artopia were it deserves to be

The Return of the King
absolutely amazing video nalbis. i loved theorizing with you in the discord server and seeing the result of all that is great. can't wait for more
Scaled and icy was the most underrated album it is not even bad (choker is my favorite)
I wonder how much influence this man alone has had on the pilotverse
The quality on these videos is always through the roof, really nice work. Can’t wait to hear more as the album comes out!
Good quality of video, great lighting, microphone, camera, aesthetic, you go straight to the point. I wish you had a bigger audience, thanks for your videos!
really enjoying these videos! have been a bit distant from what's going on and these serve as great explanations. keep it up jimmy!
thanks my guy! never thought i'd be pulled back into it but yeah it's always super intriguing!
love what you're doing too
I am continually captivated by your voice and the way you present these videos.
Awesome man. Thank you for this and all your other videos. Truly amazes me how well you do this.
GREAT video! Plus, I LOVE the use of Disasterpeace's HLD track!
I genuinely cant believe its been two years already, I remember watching this when it came out, I hope you make similar videos for the next album
ill likely only make one more once everything is wrapped up, covering absolutely everything in one master-video.
Just subbed and about to binge all your videos
Great editing work!
I am truly moved by your work, you've opened undiscovered paths of my mind. And I love this 4:3 format, this is not just a video it is the art. Wish to know you in person... Stay blessed!

That's more entertaining than any TV show I've seen LMAO
I find myself getting excited for your videos more than their content itself lol
thank you nalbis for existing
We need you again, king
I just listened to your podcast and I loved it! I can't wait to see more content from you whenever you want to make it.
thank you, such a good video. btw also love the screen format. very neat
even if you don't like top's songs, you have to appreciate the work put into this. also wanted to add that at AROUND 10:00 you said that dema is a metaphor for big companies, and big companies usually treat their employees badly and that can cause mental health problems, which will cause the to fall into dema.
Your videos and theories always leave me dumbfound, content as well as editing is top notch. Good job once again!
very good video !! also i just get so happy hearing u using the soundtrack form my favorite game in such dramatic but good ways
your videos give me genuine serotonin
Nalbis back at it again with another piece of art
I’ve missed diving into the lore of TOP ☺️ it’s been years. Glad to be back 😄
DOWN IN THE FOREST, WE’LL SING A CHORUS -> GLOWING EYES -> THE OUTSIDE MUSIC VIDEO WITH NEDS
OMG THEY MIGHT PLAY THOSE IN ICY TOURRR AND ALSO MABE LOVELY
we need a scaled and icy album analysis man!
Keep this going my friend I love every minute of it - thank you for taking the time and effort to sift through the details and explain them in a very creative way 🙏
I'm certain everyone is already familiar with this tidbit, but for anyone who does not know:
Hearing Jimmy talk about the album cover reminded me of the video Justin Anderson put out on his channel about 8 months ago?
Regarding the digital copy of the Blurryface album. Those two blacker than black hemicircles on the left? side of the front cover.
They line up perfectly with Trash's eyes. (And possibly with Clifford's also.)
And they are so easy to overlook, or not even notice at all.
Later, suki
I am a fan of twenty one pilots (top 1% listerners on spotify in 2020) beacuse of Nalbis, thank you man, your work is awesome.
I hope there will be more videos from you :)
Such an amazing and through view of the twenty one pilots universe and lore, thank you so much for you content, man
You're the best
Wow! Where did you pull all this information from? This is incredible. Thank you for sharing
Bless you, surely there’ll be a vid for the full album ? ❤️
Excellent work, I hope to see your findings on the new album soon
Wow. This was....I can't even explain it, but thank you for sharing your knowledge and incredibly interesting pov. I always felt like there was this waaay deeper meaning behind it all...cover, colors, lyrics, design, vibes, all of it! I no longer have that void sir, and it feels SO NICE😁. I also have an appreciation for the album and band that I didn't think had any room for expansion. Have an awesome day!
How come no one talks about the fact that the instrumentals of Shy Away and Choker sound like those old video games soundtrack from Sega Genesis or Nintendo?
Your videos are so cinematic and well done.
Main protagonist has to be Clancy, remember tyler said in an interview that for their next album (SAI) they would like to tackle a character that hasn't had the proper exposition yet, so my guess is that Clancy is indeed Red Cross
