This depends on season. In the fall, yes I want jerkbaits that get down to the fish unless they are busting on top. In the spring during the alewife night bite I want all my baits riding on the surface or high in the water column.
I see you fish alot of blade baits. Can I suggest you try the Molix Trago Vib? I starting using them on the Pack this year and they are by far the best smallmouth and striper producer I have fished compared to other blade baits. Give them a try.
